And whereas the purchase of the Native land set out in the Schedule hereto has been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under the authority of the Native Land Act, 1909, and its amendments :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority so conferred upon me by section fourteen of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim that the Native land set out in the Schedule hereto has become Crown land.

UMUKAIMATA 1A 2A Block, Totoro Survey District: Approximate area, 167 acres 3 roods.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 16th day of March, 1925.

Apportioning Amounts payable to Various Acclimatization Societies for Opossums taken in their District.

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby provide and declare that the sum of two thousand eight hundred and forty-eight pounds eighteen shillings and one penny, being the amount received in the undermentioned Acclimatization Districts by way of fines, together with half the net revenue derived from fees and royalty with respect to the taking of opossums, shall be paid to the Acclimatization Societies of such districts in the amounts set opposite the name of each respectively :—

Apportionment of Representation on Hospital Boards.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 16th day of March, 1925.

Present :

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS from time to time by Order in Council made under the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, regulations have been made with respect to the constitution of Hospital Boards and the election of representatives of contributory local authorities thereon and apportionments have been made with regard to the representation of such contributory local authorities :

And whereas it is desirable or necessary in some instances to revise such apportionment :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the said Act, doth hereby alter the apportionment of representation of certain of such contributory districts in the manner set forth in the Schedule hereto, and all previous Orders in Council relating thereto are hereby revoked insofar as they affect the apportionment of such contributory districts; and doth hereby direct that the regulations made by the Order in Council of the ninth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, shall apply as if incorporated in this Order in Council with the following exceptions :—

(a.) The date of the first election of an additional representative for the Taumarunui County, Gisborne Borough, New Plymouth Borough, Palmerston North Borough, and Clutha County shall be Wednesday, the twenty-ninth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five.

(b.) Simultaneously with such election of representatives of contributory local authorities to Hospital Boards herein fixed to be held on the twenty-ninth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, the present representatives of the combined district of Egmont County and Opunake Town District and the Oroua County shall agree amongst themselves which of the representatives of the district which they represent shall retire from the Board and, failing agreement, the matter shall be determined by the Board by lot in such manner as the Board may decide, and none of these representatives shall be entitled to speak or to vote at a Board meeting or act in any capacity as a member of the Board until the necessary reduction is made in the number of representatives for the district they represent.

Authorizing the Oamaru Borough Council to erect a Monument as a Permanent War Memorial.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 23rd day of March, 1925.

Present :

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section fifteen of the Finance Act, 1919 (hereinafter referred to as “the said section”), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the provision by the Oamaru Borough Council of a monument as a permanent war memorial, as provided by the said section; and, with the like advice and consent, doth hereby approve of the erection of such monument in that portion of Oamaru described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

OAMARU WAR MEMORIAL SITE.

ALL that area in the Borough of Oamaru, being a square with sides 35 links in length, situated in the centre of Thames Street with its sides parallel to or at right angles to the line of that street, and its centre 350 links north of the intersection of the middle lines of Thames Street and of the railway reserve.
