Altering Boundaries of Waimarino and Wanganui Counties,
and including Area in Mangawhero Riding, Wanganui
County.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is provided by subsection two of section
fourteen of the Counties Act, 1920, that the boundaries
of any one or more counties may be altered in accordance
with a resolution proposing the alteration passed by the
Council of each of such counties in which the Counties Act
is in force:

And whereas a resolution was passed by the Waimarino
County Council on the thirteenth day of December, one
thousand nine hundred and twenty-four:

And whereas a similar resolution was passed by the Wanga-
nui County Council on the twelfth day of December, one
thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, praying for the
alteration of the boundaries of the Waimarino and Wanganui
Counties in the manner described in the said resolutions and in
the First Schedule hereto:

And whereas it is expedient to make such alteration in
accordance with the said resolutions, and that the area to
be added to the Wanganui County should be included in the
Mangawhero Riding of that county:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority conferred on me by the said Act, I, General Sir
Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area
described in the First Schedule hereto, being now part of the
Waimarino County, shall be added to and form part of the
Wanganui County; that the boundaries of the Waimarino
and Wanganui Counties as so altered shall be those set forth
under the respective headings in the Second Schedule hereto;
that the area added as aforesaid to the Wanganui County
shall be included in the Mangawhero Riding of the said county;
and that the boundaries of that riding shall be those set forth
in the Third Schedule hereto:

And I do also proclaim and declare that this Proclamation
shall take effect on the first day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and twenty-five.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREA EXCLUDED FROM WAIMARINO COUNTY AND INCLUDED
IN WANGANUI COUNTY.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, situated in
Blocks VI, VII, X, and XI, Ngamatea Survey District, and
bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the
Auraki Stream and the Mangawhero River, and proceeding
in a north-easterly direction along the middle of the said
Auraki Stream to a point opposite the south-western boundary-
line of Lot 1 on plan 4978, deposited in the office of the
District Land Registrar at Wellington, being part of Ohotu
Subdivision 4B No. 2; thence to and along the south-western
and northern boundaries of the said Lot 1, and the northern
boundary of Lot 2 on plan 4978 aforesaid, to the western
boundary of Ohotu Subdivision 6B; thence again towards
the north-east generally by the north-western boundary of
the said Ohotu 6B, the western and northern boundaries of
Ohotu Subdivision 6A No. 1B, and the Waokaramu Stream,
to the middle of Field’s Track; thence by the middle of
Field’s Track to its intersection by the Rangitatau Stream;
thence along the middle of the said Rangitatau Stream to
the middle of the Mangawhero River; thence by the middle
of the said Mangawhero River to its confluence with the
Auraki Stream, the place of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

WAIMARINO COUNTY.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, bounded by
a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Wanganui
River, being the intersection of the northern boundary of
Block I, Whirinaki Survey District, with the middle-line of
the river; thence proceeding easterly along the northern
boundaries of Blocks I, II, III, and IV to the middle of the
Maungaroa Road; thence north-westerly along the middle
of that road to a point in line with the north-western bound-
ary of Section 4, Block XIII, Kaitieke Survey District;
thence to and along that boundary and the south-western
boundaries of Sections 3 and 5, Block XIII, Kaitieke Survey
District, and the production of the last-mentioned boundary
to the middle of the Kokako Road; thence north-easterly
along the middle of that road to a point in line with the
