THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
Tautuku Survey District, to the Regan Road; thence in a south-easterly direction generally by the southern side of the aforesaid road to the Hukihuki Road, across that road, and by the southern side of the riparian reserves of the Hukihuki Creek to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section 23, Block X, Tautuku Survey District; thence in a north-easterly direction generally across the aforesaid Hukihuki Creek and its riparian reserves, by the eastern boundary of the aforesaid Section 23, to the Pratt Road; thence across the Pratt Road and the Waikawa-Catlins Main Road, and by that road to the south-west corner of Section 11 A, Block X, Tautuku Survey District; thence by the western boundary of the aforesaid Section 11A to the Coleman Road; thence across and by that road to the south-east corner of Section 30, Block XI, Tautuku Survey District; again crossing the Coleman Road, and by the western boundary of Section 2 to the Greenfield Road; thence in a westerly direction generally by that road to a point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 22, Block XII, Tautuku Survey District; thence in a southerly direction generally by the eastern boundaries of Sections 22 and 17, Block XII, Tautuku Survey District, to the Waikawa-Catlins Main Road; thence in a westerly direction generally by the northern side of the aforesaid main road to its point of intersection with the Southland-Otago Land District boundary; thence in a northerly direction generally by the aforesaid land-district boundary to the point of commencement; the following areas being excluded from the district enclosed by the above-described boundary:—
(a.) That portion of a public road which adjoins the northern boundaries of Sections 8 and 10, Block X, Tautuku Survey District.
(b.) Sections 13, 14, 15 (two parts), and 16, Block XIII, Rimu Survey District; Section 13, Block II, Tautuku Survey District; Section 17, Block I, Tautuku Survey District; together with those parts of the public roads which adjoin any of these sections and those parts of the Tautuku River and its riparian reserves which lie between the sections detailed in Rimu Survey District and those detailed in Tautuku Survey District.
Portion II.
Also all that area being Sections 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, 27, and 28, Block II, Catlins Survey District, and all public roads lying within the area defined by the continuous boundaries of the aforesaid sections.
Portion III.
Also all that area situated in Blocks VII, VIII, IX, X, and XI, Woodland Survey District, and bounded generally as follows:—
Commencing at the most northerly point of Section 28, Block VII, and running in a south-easterly direction generally by the north-east boundary of Section 28 and the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Section 30, Block VII, to the Purakaunui River; thence in an easterly direction generally by the south bank of the said river to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 39, Block VII; thence by the last-mentioned boundary and the northern and the north-eastern boundaries of Section 14, Block VIII, to a public road; thence in a southerly direction generally by the aforesaid road to a public road fronting the coast and across that public road to the coast; thence by the shores of the Purakaunui Bay and across the mouth of the Purakaunui River to another public road fronting the coast; thence by the last-mentioned road to the south-west corner of Section 14, Block XI; thence by the south-west boundary of the aforesaid Section 14 to a public road, crossing the road, by the southern boundary of Section 7, Block XI, to the Long Point Road; thence in a northerly direction generally by the Long Point Road to a point in line with the southern boundary of Section 13, Block X, across that road, and by the southern and the western boundaries of the aforesaid Section 13 to a public road; thence in a westerly direction generally across and by the said road to the eastern boundary of Section 31, Block X; thence in a north-westerly direction generally by the aforesaid boundary to a public road; thence by the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of Section 17, Block X, to the main Catlins-Waikawa Road; thence, crossing the aforesaid main road, by the south-western and north-western boundaries of Section 17, Block IX, and the south-western and northern boundaries of Section 14, Block IX; thence across a road and by the western and northern boundaries of Section 53, Block VII, to a point in line with the western boundary of Section 9, Block VII, and by the last-mentioned boundary to a road; thence in a north-easterly direction generally by the south side of the aforesaid road to the north-eastern corner of Section 10, Block VII; thence by the north-east boundary of the aforesaid Section 10 to a public road; thence across and by that road to the point of commencement; the fol-

lowing area being excluded from the district enclosed in the above-described boundaries:—
Sections 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9, Block X, and that portion of the Purakauiti Road in Block VII which adjoins the aforesaid sections.
SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—WAIKAWA FOREST FIRE DISTRICT.
All that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 17,900 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks III, VI, XI, and XIV, Mokoreta Survey District, and Blocks I, V, VI, VII, XIV, XV, XVI, and XVII, Waikawa Survey District, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-western corner of Section 4, Block XIV, Mokoreta Survey District, and running in an easterly direction generally along the road forming the northern boundary of Sections 4 and 5, Block XIV, Mokoreta Survey District, to its junction with another road, and crossing a road in a northerly direction generally along the last-mentioned public road, to a point 40 chains due west from the boundary of the Southland Land District; thence due north to the Taukupu River; thence in an easterly direction generally along the aforesaid river to the boundary of the Southland Land District; thence due south by the aforesaid boundary to the north-east corner of Section 3, Block VI, Waikawa Survey District; thence due east to the north-east corner of Section 2, Block XIV, Waikawa Survey District; thence due south to the south side of the Waikawa-Catlins Main Road; thence by the said main road to the Long Beach Creek; thence in a southerly direction generally by the Southland Land District boundary to the north-east corner of Section 8, Block XVI, Waikawa Survey District; thence due south by the eastern boundary of Section 8 to a public road; thence in a north-westerly direction generally by the last-mentioned road to a road forming the eastern boundary of Section 9, Block XVI, Waikawa Survey District; thence in a south-easterly direction generally by the last-mentioned boundary to its intersection with a road forming the southern boundary of the said section; thence in a westerly direction generally by the last-mentioned road to the western boundary of the said Section 9; thence due north to the south-east corner of Section 10, Block XVI, Waikawa Survey District; thence by the southern and western boundaries of the aforesaid Section 10 to the south-east corner of Section 8, Block I, Waikawa Survey District, and by the southern and western boundaries of the aforesaid Section 8 to the south-west corner of Section 6, Block XVII, Waikawa Survey District; thence in a north-easterly direction generally by the western boundary of the said Section 6 to the northern side of a public road; thence in a north-westerly direction generally by the last-mentioned road to the south-western corner of Section 12, Block VII, Waikawa Survey District; thence in a northerly direction generally by the western boundaries of Sections 12, 9, and 6, Block VII, Waikawa Survey District, to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by the southern and western boundaries of Section 8 and the western and northern boundaries of Section 7, Block V, Waikawa Survey District, to the western boundary of Section 6, Block VI, Waikawa Survey District; thence by the last-mentioned boundary to a public raod; thence in an easterly direction generally along the southern side of the said public road to its intersection with another road forming the western boundary of Sections 5 and 2, Block VI, Waikawa Survey District, and Section 4, Block XIV, Mokoreta Survey District; thence by the last-mentioned road to the point of commencement.
As the same are more particularly delineated on plan No. 218/2, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Establishment of General Duty Section of the New Zealand Permanent Forces.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve, under section 6 (a), Defence Act, 1909, of the constitution and establishment of the undermentioned unit as part of the New Zealand Permanent Forces, to consist of such number of non-commissioned officers and men as may from time to time be authorized by the Minister of Defence.
The General Duty Section of the New Zealand Permanent Forces.
