THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £2,000, authorized to be raised by the Whangarei County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of formation, construction, and metalling of the road known as the Opouteke Access Road in the Mangakahia Riding of the Whangarei County, the Whangarei County Council makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the said Opouteke Special-rating Area, comprising all the area and rateable property within the boundaries of the following lines:—
Commencing at the northern boundary corner of Ruataewao (4484, red) in Block V, Mangakahia Survey District; thence generally in a westerly direction by the Opouteke River to the south-eastern boundary corner of 2B No. 7; thence north-east by the southern boundary of the said 2B No. 7 and Section 8 to the south-western boundary corner of the said Section 8; thence due north by the western boundary of Section 8 to its north-western boundary corner; thence continuing north along the eastern boundary of Sections 5 and 6 to the north-eastern boundary corner of the said Section 6; thence in a westerly direction along the northern boundary corner of Sections 6, 8, and 1 to the north-western corner of the latter; thence south by the western boundary of the said Section 1 to the north-eastern boundary corner of Section 9; thence westerly along the northern boundary of Sections 9 and 10 to the north-western boundary corner of the said Section 10; thence generally southward by the western boundary of Sections 10, 15, 11, and 12, to the south-western boundary corner of the latter section where it junctions with the Opouteke Stream; thence in an easterly direction along the bank of the Opouteke Stream to the western boundary corner of Section 2; thence south and east along the road which forms the southern boundary of Sections 2, 3, and 4 to the south-eastern boundary corner of the latter section (4); thence due north by the western boundary of Section 9 to its north-western boundary corner; thence due east along the southern boundary of Sections 8, 13 (75 acres), and Section 1 to the south-western boundary corner of the said Section 1 in Block XII, Tutamoe Survey District; thence in a north-eastern direction along the eastern boundary of the said Section 1 and Ruataewao to the eastern boundary corner of the latter (Rautaewao); thence due north by the eastern boundary-line of the said Ruataewa Block to its northern boundary corner, being the point of commencement.
That such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed at a properly constituted meeting of the Whangarei County Council on the 16th day of January, 1925.

WHANGAREI BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Whangarei Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and principal and other charges on the Whangarei Borough Railway Overhead Bridges Loan, 1924, of £5,450, authorized to be raised by the Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of contributing the sum of £5,000 to the Railway Department towards the cost of constructing railway overhead bridges in the Borough of Whangarei, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixth of a penny (½d.) in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Whangarei; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of the said loan.

STRATFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Stratford Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Stratford Borough Electric Lighting and Power Works Loan of £25,000, 1924, authorized to be raised by the Stratford Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose as set out in the Schedule attached hereto, the said Stratford Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one and one-fifth (1⅕d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Stratford; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

To provide additions and extensions to the electric lighting and power works, either within or without the borough, and to supply electricity, and in connection with such additions and extensions to purchase or otherwise acquire all such freehold or leasehold lands, easements, engines, machinery, poles, lines, plant, equipment, appliances, materials, and other things, and to erect all such buildings, engines, machinery, poles, lines, plant, equipment, and appliances as may be considered necessary; to make all such alterations and additions to the powerhouses, sub-stations, buildings, machinery, plant, equipment, and appliances, and to the reticulation, and the transmission distribution and service lines, and the existing installations and electric apparatus that may be deemed necessary owing to any changeover of the system of supply or method of distribution of electricity, or otherwise howsoever, and extensions of the transmission and distribution lines; and any other purposes incidental or in relation to any of the above purposes
