N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.
The Reverend W. A. Hay, Chaplain 4th Class, to be Chaplain 3rd Class, with effect from 18th September, 1924, and is transferred to the Reserve List, Class II, R.D. 10. Dated 24th December, 1924.
The Reverend G. McDonald, Chaplain 4th Class, Reserve List, Class II, is retired under the provisions of paragraph 127, General Regulations 1913. Dated 24th December, 1924.
The Reverend D. P. Buckley, Chaplain 4th Class, resigns his commission. Dated 14th January, 1925.
With reference to the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 77, of 20th November, 1924, relating to the Reverend D. N. McKenzie, after the words "Chaplain 4th Class," insert "to be Chaplain 3rd Class with effect from 22nd April, 1922."

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Fairlie Township Special-rating District, taken on the 21st day of January, 1925, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £410 for the purchase of plant for the Fairlie Fire Brigade, the voting resulted as follows:—
For the proposal, 84; against the proposal, 1.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

WHANGAREI BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Result of Poll.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Whangarei taken on the 17th day of December, 1924, on the proposal of the Whangarei Borough Council to borrow the sum of £5,450 for the purpose of contributing the sum of £5,000 to the Railway Department towards the cost of constructing overhead railway crossing at Walton Street, Water Street, and Rust Lane, in the Borough of Whangarei,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 261;
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 136;
the number of informal votes was 12.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913 I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Whangarei taken on the 17th day of December, 1924, on the proposal of the Whangarei Borough Council to borrow the sum of £7,100, for the purpose of constructing swimming-baths in Whangarei,—
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 59;
the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 340;
the number of informal votes was 10.
I therefore declare the proposal rejected.
