Boundaries of Ohura Town District curtailed.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the sixteenth day
of January, one thousand nine hundred and eighteen,
and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the thirty-first
day of the same month, the Town District of Ohura was
duly constituted and proclaimed under the Town Boards
Act, 1908, with the boundaries described in the Schedule to
the said Proclamation:
And whereas it is expedient to curtail the boundaries of
the said town district in the manner hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, I, Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers vested in me by the Town Boards
Act, 1908, do hereby curtail the said Town District of Ohura
by excluding therefrom the area described in the First Schedule
hereto, and do declare that the boundaries of the said town
district shall be those described in the Second Schedule
hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
AREA EXCLUDED FROM OHURA TOWN DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded by a
line commencing at the intersection of the western boundary
of Block VI, Ohura Survey District, and the southern side
of Ohura-Matiere Road, and proceeding in a north-easterly
direction along that road to its intersection with the bound-
ary of the Ohura Town District, as described in New Zealand
Gazette, 1918, page 305; thence south-easterly along that
boundary to the northern side of Huia Road; thence
westerly generally and north-westerly along the last-named
road to the western boundary of Block VI aforesaid; thence
northerly along the last-named boundary to the point of
commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
OHURA TOWN DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded by a
line commencing at a point on the southern side of the
Mangaroa-Tongaporutu Road at the north-eastern corner of
Section 2, Block V, Ohura Survey District; thence along the
boundary between Sections 2 and 3 to the Mangaparare
Road, across that road, and along the Mangaparare Stream
to the point where it crosses the road forming the south-
western boundary of Ohura Suburban Section 7; thence
along a right line south-easterly across Section 9, Block V
aforesaid, and across the railway reserve to the southernmost
corner of Suburban Section 30; thence easterly across Section
7, Block V aforesaid, and across the Ohura Road to iron
pipe CLVI; thence along a right line north-easterly to a
point on the right bank of the Mangaroa River, being the
southernmost point of the southern bend of that river in the
western part of Mangaroa B No. 2D Block, about 18 chains
east of Ohura Road and 15 chains south of Huia Road;
thence across the said river and along its left bank to Huia
Road; thence across Huia Road and westerly and northerly
along its northern side to its intersection with the western
boundary of Block VI, Ohura Survey District; thence
northerly along the said western boundary of Block VI
aforesaid to Ohura Road; thence generally north-easterly
along the south side of the said Ohura Road for a distance
of about 12$ chains; thence by a right line across that road
to and across the Waitewhena Stream, along the right bank of
that stream to and along the left bank of the Mangakara
Stream to a point in line with the eastern boundary of
Section 2, Block V aforesaid, and thence by a right line to
the north-eastern corner of that section, the place of com-
mencement.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 22nd day of
December, 1924.
