Notice to Mariners No. 76 of 1924.

NEW ZEALAND.—NORTH ISLAND.—WEST COAST, KAIPARA HEAD.

Signalling-facilities for Vessels when inside the Bar.

INFORMATION is hereby given that a signal staff has been installed at Kaipara Head for the purpose of enabling vessels when inside of the bar between sunrise and sunset to communicate with the shore.

The signal staff, which is 16 ft. in length and projects 11 ft. outwards, has been erected on the top corner of the front (lower) beacon on its southern side. This will enable vessels to communicate by the Commercial Code of Signals when passing the lighthouse on North Head.

This notice amends Notice to Mariners No. 1 of the 10th January, 1924.

Goods subject to Depreciated-currency Duty.

IT is hereby notified for public information that the Minister of Customs has decided to amend the lists gazetted on 9th March, 1922, and 7th February, 1924, of the classes or kinds of goods on which, if imported from Germany, Austria, or Hungary, the special duty imposed by section 13 of the Customs Amendment Act, 1921, is payable, by deleting therefrom, after the 4th day of March, 1925, the following words:—

“Rubber tires, rubber tiring, and inner tubes of rubber for pneumatic tires, n.e.i.”

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned rural land will be offered for sale by public auction for cash or on deferred payment at the District Lands and Survey Office, Invercargill, at 10 o’clock a.m. on Thursday, 8th January, 1925, under the provisions of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, and amendments.


SCHEDULE.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—RURAL LAND.

Southland County.

SECTION 32, Block V, Lindhurst Hundred, and Section 5, Block VIII, Lindhurst Hundred: Area, 574 acres 2 roods 29 perches. Upset price, £1,440; required deposit, £140.

Situated about five miles and a half from Mataura Railway-station. One mile and a half hilly clay road, balance gravelled. Light land suitable for mixed farming. Buildings consist of two huts, stable, and barn.

File.—D.O., 22/780 and 22/779; H.O., 26/18676 and 18677.

TERMS OF SALE.

  1. Cash.—One-fifth of the purchase-money on the fall of the hammer and the balance within thirty days.

  2. Deferred Payments.—A deposit as shown against properties in Schedule above; balance by equal half-yearly instalments consisting partly of purchase-money and partly of interest, extending over a period not exceeding thirty-four years and a half, with the right to pay off at any time the whole or any part of the outstanding amount.

  3. The unpaid purchase-money shall be secured by way of instalment mortgage, interest being calculated at 5 per cent. in the case of discharged soldiers and 5½ per cent. in all other cases. A rebate of one-tenth of the interest payable will be allowed for prompt payment of instalments.

  4. Purchaser responsible for payment of transfer and mortgage fees.
