Class VII: Glass, &c.—continued.
Glassware, n.e.i.; globes and chimneys for lamps, n.e.i.
Roofing tiles, ridging, and finials, glass and earthen; sheets, plain or corrugated; roofing slates and tiles, ridging, and finials, composed of cement and asbestos or of similar materials; plaster-pulp sheets, plain and unornamental.
Class VIII: Fancy goods, &c.—
Toilet preparations and perfumery, n.e.i., including perfumed oil.
Class IX: Paper—
Wrapping-paper, all kinds, glazed, mill-glazed, or unglazed, including browns, caps, casings, sulphites, sugars, and all other bag papers, candle carton paper, tissues, and tinfoil paper, not printed, n.e.i., in sheets or rolls of any size, if, under the Tariff, liable to ad valorem duty.
Class X: Metals—
Iron, galvanized or plain black—viz., rod, bolt, bar, angle, tee, channel, and rolled girders.
Iron, plain sheet, plain plate, and hoop (less than 6 in. in width), whether black, polished, enamelled, plated, tinned, galvanized, or otherwise coated with metal, n.e.i.; rolled chequered iron plates, plain black.
Rails for railways and tramways, including layouts, points, and crossings for the same; rail-fastenings—viz., fishplates, creep-clips, tie-irons, bearing-brackets, bed-plates, cast-iron chocks, bored iron bars.
Class XI: Vehicles—
Bicycles, tricycles, and the like vehicles, including motor-cycles, also hubs, spindles, and other finished, partly finished, or machined parts of the same, n.e.i.; side-cars for motor-cycles.
Motor-vehicles and parts thereof—viz., motor-vehicles, n.e.i., including tractors driven by gas, oil, or electricity, suited for use in warehouses or upon wharves and pavements.
Before deciding the matter, the Minister hereby invites any person who considers that the importation of such goods without such duty being charged thereon would prejudicially or injuriously affect his industry or business, or who would be aggrieved if such duty were not charged on such goods, to make a complaint in the prescribed form.
The Minister also invites any person who considers that the imposition of depreciated-currency duty on such goods does prejudicially or injuriously affect his industry or business, or who is aggrieved by the imposition of such duty, to state in the prescribed form any reasons he may desire to offer why such duty should not be imposed.
Such complaint or statement will be regarded as strictly confidential. It must reach this office not later than one month from the date of the publication of this notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
Any complaint or statement already received in connection with the classes or kinds of goods referred to above will receive full consideration before the matter is decided.

FIJI ISLANDS.—OVALAU.—LEVUKA.

Buoy replaced by Concrete Beacon.
INFORMATION has been received from the Comptroller of Customs at Suva to the effect that the buoy marking the one-fathom patch in Waitovu or North Entrance to Levuka Harbour on the Island of Ovalau, has been replaced by a concrete beacon.
No further details are given.

THE following Notices to Mariners, which have been received from the Department of Trade and Customs, Melbourne, are published for general information.

AUSTRALIA.—SOUTH COAST.—SPENCER GULF.
Cape Donnington Light (U).—Character to be altered.—Power to be increased.
MARINERS and others are hereby notified that the character of the fixed light (U), with white and red sectors, on Cape Donnington will be altered, and its power will be increased, on or about 17th December, 1924.
Position.—Southward of the extreme of Cape Donnington. Lat. 34° 44′ S., long. 136° 00′ E., on chart No. 784.
Details.—
Character.—Group flashing with white and red sectors, showing three flashes in quick succession every nine seconds, thus: Flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec.; flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec.; flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 6 secs.
Power.—White, 1,000 candles. Red, 400 candles.
Elevation.—80 ft.
Visibility.—White, 14 miles. Red, 11 miles. White from 074° to 078°, red thence to 140°, white thence to 290°, red thence to 313°; obscured elsewhere.
NOTE.—In other respects the light will remain unaltered.
Remarks.—The light will be unwatched. No further notice will be given.
AUSTRALIA.—EAST COAST.—QUEENSLAND.
Cape Cleveland Leading Light.—Character to be altered.—Power to be increased.
Mariners and others are hereby notified that the character of the fixed white leading light at Cape Cleveland will be altered, and its power will be increased, on or about 11th December, 1924.
Position.—On east side of Cape Cleveland. Lat. 19° 11′ S., long. 147° 01′ E., on chart No. 1102.
Details.—
Character.—White, flashing every second, thus: Flash 0·4 sec., eclipse 0·6 sec.
Elevation.—150 ft. Power.—2,500 candles.
Visibility.—18 miles, from 287° to 295°; obscured elsewhere.
Structure.—Circular steel house surmounted by lantern, painted white, 10 ft. in height.
Remarks.—This light in line with the main light, bearing 291°, leads between Four-feet and Twenty-four-feet Rocks.
NOTE.—Further notice will be given.

E. G. Willy, Piako Road, Turua, to be the place, for holding such election; also to appoint Saturday, the 15th day of November, 1924, at 12.30 o’clock in the afternoon, to be the day and the hour, and the Public School, Kopuarahi, to be the place, for holding the first meeting of the Board so elected.
