proclaim and declare that the Native land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a Native School, and that the said land shall vest in His Majesty the King as from the second day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 4 acres 2 roods; being portion of Native land.
Situated in Block III, Hukatere Survey District (Auckland R.D.) (S.O. 22729.)
In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 59844, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured purple.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 29th day of September, 1924.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS application has been made under section twenty, subsection one, of the Finance Act, 1919, for the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set out therein, and it is expedient that such consent should issue:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the raising of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto, and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Finance Act, 1919, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the said loans.

Prescribing the Rate of Interest that may be paid by the Waitemata County Council in respect of a Loan of £750, authorized to be raised for the Purpose of discharging Existing Liabilities for the Acquisition of Land.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 29th day of September, 1924.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section eleven of the Finance Act, 1921, and its amendments, it is provided that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any Act or in any rule of law, where a local authority or public body has been authorized before the passing of the said Act, or is thereafter authorized, to borrow money, whether pursuant to a poll of ratepayers or otherwise howsoever, whether the rate of interest or the term of years of the loan was or was not specified or determined, and such money or any part thereof has not been borrowed, the local authority may, with the precedent consent of the Minister of Finance, borrow such money, or such amount thereof as has not been borrowed, at such rate of interest, or for such term, as may be prescribed by the Governor-General by Order in Council:
And whereas the Waitemata County Council has been authorized to borrow the sum of seven hundred and fifty pounds for the purpose of discharging existing liabilities for the acquisition of land:
And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his precedent consent as required by the above-recited section eleven, and it is desired that the rate of interest at which the money may be borrowed be not exceeding six per centum per annum:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him as aforesaid, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prescribe that the rate of interest that may be paid by the Waitemata County Council in respect of the said loan of seven hundred and fifty pounds shall be a rate not exceeding six per centum per annum, and the said Waitemata County Council is hereby authorized to borrow the said sum of seven hundred and fifty pounds accordingly.

Extending Time for holding General Election of Members of the Kaitaia Town Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 29th day of September, 1924.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twenty of the Town Boards Act, 1908, it is provided that the general election of members of the various Town Boards throughout the Dominion shall be held on the third Wednesday in September in every second year:
And whereas an election of members of the Kaitaia Town Board should have been held on Wednesday, the seventeenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four:
And whereas it is expedient to extend the time for holding such election of members of the Kaitaia Town Board:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908, as amended by the Local Elections and Polls Amendment Act, 1913, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby extend the time for holding the aforesaid general election of members for the Kaitaia Town District, and doth hereby order and declare that in the aforesaid Town District the said general election shall be held and take place on Friday, the twenty-fourth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four.
