APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District at Cromwell.

PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1908, the undersigned, His Majesty the King (Public Works Department), hereby applies for a license for a water-race, as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 5 p.m., 29/7/24.

Date and number of miner’s right: 28/7/24; 15101.

Address for service: Care of W. A. Harlow, Solicitor, Clyde.

Dated at Clyde, this 20th day of August, 1924.

SCHEDULE.

Locality of the race, and of its starting and terminal points: Commencing at a point in Lagoon Creek, Hawea, in Run 236c, about 10 chains from the north-eastern corner of Section 19, Block V, Lower Hawea District, and running through the said run and through the freehold lands of John Kane in a pipe-line, and terminating at proposed homestead-site on Section 25 in Mr. Watkin’s Run No. 507.

Length and intended course of race: One mile; east to west.

Points of intake: One; Lagoon Creek, as above.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Three months; £1,150.

Mean depth and breadth: The water is to be carried in buried 2½ in. pipes.

Number of heads to be diverted: One-twentieth of a head.

Purpose for which water is to be used: Irrigation and domestic.

Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.

I, RALPH BARCLAY SENIOR-PARTRIDGE, of Palmerston North, Linotype Operator, heretofore called and known by the name of “Ralph Barclay Senior,” hereby give public notice that on the 22nd day of August, 1924, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished, and abandoned the use of my said surname of “Senior,” and then assumed and adopted, and determined thenceforth on all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe, the name of “SENIOR-PARTRIDGE,” instead of the said name of “Senior”; and I give further notice that by a deed poll dated the 22nd day of August, 1924, duly executed and attested and enrolled in the office of the Supreme Court, Wellington District, Palmerston North Registry, on the 28th day of August, 1924, I formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said surname of “Senior,” and declared that I had assumed and adopted and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of “SENIOR-PARTRIDGE” instead of “Senior,” and so as to be at all times thereafter called, known, and described by the name of “RALPH BARCLAY SENIOR-PARTRIDGE” exclusively.
