Declaring Land in the Hawke's Bay Land District to be subject

to the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.

JELLICOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
section seventy-nine of the Land for Settlements Act,
1908, as amended by section twenty-seven of the Land Laws
Amendment Act, 1920, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
declare that the area of Crown land described in the Schedule
hereto shall be subject to the provisions of the Land for
Settlements Act, 1908, and shall hereafter form part of the
Te Mata Settlement.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District, situated in
Block IV, Te Mata Survey District, being part of Lots 9 and
13 on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office at Napier
under No. 1690, and containing by admeasurement 8 acres
0 roods 29 perches, more or less. Bounded, commencing
at the north-west corner of the said Lot 13, towards the
north-west by Section 11, Block IV, Te Mata Survey District,
1824.4 links; thence towards the north-east by Lot 20 on
deposited plan No. 3449, 444.7 links; thence towards the
south-east by the other parts of Lots 9 and 13 on deposited
plan 1690 aforesaid, 1872.0 links; thence towards the south-
west by Lot 15 on deposited plan No. 1797, 443.1 links, to
point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 25th day of January, 1924.

Land temporarily reserved in the Wellington Land District as
a Site for a Roadman's Cottage.

JELLICOE, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first sec-
tion of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the
Governor-General may from time to time, either by general
or particular description, and whether the same has been
surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstand-
ing that the same may be then held under pastoral license,
any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any
of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pur-
suance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred
upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from
sale the land in the Wellington Land District described in
the Schedule hereunder written, as a site for a roadman's
cottage.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing
by admeasurement 8 acres, be the same a little more or less,
being portion of Section 9, Block VIII, Whirinaki Survey
District, and being Lot 3 of a subdivision of the section
aforesaid. As the same is more particularly shown on the
plan deposited in the Office of the Chief Surveyor at
Wellington, under No. 212/6, and thereon bordered red.

General, this 25th day of January, 1924.

Notifying Land in Taranaki Land District for Sale by Public
Auction.

JELLICOE, Governor-General.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon
me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the
Land Act, 1908, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
appoint Wednesday, the fifth day of March, one thousand
nine hundred and twenty-four, as the time at which the land
described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public
auction; and I do hereby fix the price at which the said
land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule
hereto.

SCHEDULE.

TARANAKI LAND DISTRICT.-TOWN LAND.
Egmont County.-Opunake Survey District.
SUBDIVISION 4 of Section 123, Ngatihaupoto Block: Area,
l rood; capital value, Β£50.

Weighted with Β£10, valuation for improvements, com-
prising whare and hedges, which must be paid for in cash
immediately on the fall of the hammer.

Situated in the Township of Rahotu, on the main road.
Land is of first-class quality, all flat. Building is old and
dilapidated, although it has a good iron roof.

General, this 25th day of January, 1924.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
conferred upon me by section twenty-five of the
Finance Act, 1923, and of all other powers and authorities
in that behalf me enabling, I, John Rushworth, Viscount
Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zea-
land, do hereby appoint

Josephus Hargreaves Richardson, Esquire,
to be a member of the Board constituted under the Go-
vernment Life Insurance Act, 1908, to hold office during the
pleasure of the Governor-General.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General this 18th day of December, 1923.

Appointment of Analyst under the Sale of Food and Drugs

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by section three of the Sale of Food
and Drugs Act, 1908, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby
appoint

Philip Patrick Lynch, M.B., Ch.B., B.Sc., F.C.S., of
Dunedin,
to be an Analyst in accordance with the provisions of the
aforesaid Act.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this 16th day of January, 1924.

Ranger under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22,
appointed.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Richard Francis
Bollard, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of
New Zealand; do hereby appoint

Robert Buchanan Milne, of Papakura,
to be a Ranger under the said Act for the Auckland Accli-
matization District.

As witness my hand, at Wellington, this 30th day of
January, 1924.
