Prescribing the Rate of Interest that may be paid by the Mount Albert Borough Council in respect of a Loan of £16,500 authorized to be raised for Road-construction.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 21st day of January, 1924.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section eleven of the Finance Act, 1921, and its amendments, it is provided that, notwithstanding anything to the contrary in any Act or in any rule of law, where a local authority or public body has been authorized before the passing of the said Act, or is thereafter authorized, to borrow money, whether pursuant to a poll of ratepayers or otherwise howsoever, whether the rate of interest or the term of years of the loan was or was not specified or determined, and such money or any part thereof has not been borrowed, the local authority may, with the precedent consent of the Minister of Finance, borrow such money, or such amount thereof as has not been borrowed, at such rate of interest, or for such term, as may be prescribed by the Governor-General by Order in Council:
And whereas the Mount Albert Borough Council has been authorized to borrow the sum of sixteen thousand five hundred pounds for road-construction:
And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his precedent consent as required by the above-recited section eleven, and it is desired that the rate of interest at which the money may be borrowed be not exceeding six per centum per annum:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him as aforesaid, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prescribe that the rate of interest that may be paid by the Mount Albert Borough Council in respect of the said loan of sixteen thousand five hundred pounds shall be a rate not exceeding six per centum per annum, and the said Mount Albert Borough Council is hereby authorized to borrow the said sum of sixteen thousand five hundred pounds accordingly.

Prescribing the Term for which the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric-power Board may borrow the Sum of £110,000, being Portion of a Loan of £375,000 authorized to be raised for the Supply and Distribution of Electric Energy, and also the Rate of Interest payable thereon.

And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his precedent consent as required by the above-recited section eleven, and it is desired that the term for which the said one hundred and ten thousand pounds may be borrowed be twenty years, and the rate of interest payable thereon be not exceeding six per centum per annum:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him as aforesaid, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prescribe that the term for which the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric-power Board may borrow the said sum of one hundred and ten thousand pounds shall be twenty years, and the rate of interest payable thereon shall be a rate not exceeding six per centum per annum, and the said Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric-power Board is hereby authorized to borrow the said sum of one hundred and ten thousand pounds on these terms.

The North-western Side of Portion of Picton Avenue, in the City of Wellington exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908, subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 21st day of January, 1924.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anyway enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Wellington City Council on the twenty-seventh day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, viz.:—
"The Wellington City Council, being the local authority having control of the streets in the City of Wellington, hereby declares that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to the north-western side of all that portion of Picton Avenue, beginning at a point 136·36 links from its junction with Owen Street and extending for a distance of 206·04 links, being frontages of Lots 34, 33, 32, 31, D.P. 467, part of Town Section 803, City of Wellington",; subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the north-western side of the portion of Picton Avenue (described in the Schedule hereto) within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said portion of street.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of street in the Wellington Land District, City of Wellington, known as Picton Avenue, fronting Lots 34, 33, 32, and 31, D.P. 467, parts Town Section 803, City of Wellington. As the said portion of street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 58252, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

The South-eastern Side of Portion of Wales Street and the South-western Side of Portion of Fairfax Street, in the City of Dunedin, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908, subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.
