IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of
every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in
this behalf, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby pro-
claim as stopped the Government roads described in the
Schedule hereto, such roads being no longer required.

Altering Boundaries of Orton Drainage District, County of
Raglan.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 21st day
of January, 1924.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of section
three of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, a petition has
been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, by a majority of the rate-
payers in the area referred to in the said petition, situated in
the County of Raglan, praying that the land comprised in
the said area be excluded from the Orton Drainage District
as constituted under the provisions of the said Act:
And whereas a Commission appointed to inquire into the
proposed exclusion of the said area from the Orton Drainage
District held inquiries, and recommended certain alterations
of the said area:
And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of such
drainage district in manner hereinafter appearing:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority contained in section three of the Land Drainage
Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby alter the boundaries of the said Orton Drainage
District by excluding from such district the areas of land
described in the First Schedule hereto; and doth hereby
declare that the boundaries of the said drainage district, with
such alteration as herein provided for, shall be those described
in the Second Schedule hereto.
