First Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the said borough
having been altered by an Order in Council dated the 3rd
day of September, 1923, made under the Municipal Corpora-
tions Act, 1920, and published in Gazette No. 67 of the 6th
day of September, 1923.
And also, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section
141 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the boundaries
of the Borough of Avondale are hereby defined as set out in
the Second Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the said
borough having been altered by an Order in Council dated
the 3rd day of September, 1923, made under the Municipal
Corporations Act, 1920, and published in Gazette No. 67 of
the 6th day of September, 1923.
And also, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section
141 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the boundaries
of the wards of the Borough of Mount Albert affected by the
said Order in Council dated the 3rd day of September, 1923,
are hereby defined as set out in the Third Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
BOROUGH OF MOUNT ALBERT.
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded
towards the north-west generally by Section 32, Parish of
Titirangi, from Oakley Creek to the road at the south-eastern
corner of that section; thence across the said road and by
Sections 35 and 29, Parish of Titirangi, to Meola Stream;
thence by that stream to the south-eastern boundary of
Allotment 174 of Section 10, Suburbs of Auckland ; thence
by that allotment and Allotments 175 and 173 of Section
10 aforesaid and the south - western boundary of the last-
mentioned allotment produced to the middle of the road
forming the south-eastern boundary of that allotment;
thence by a line along the middle of that road to the Western
Springs Road; thence by a line along the middle of the
Western Springs Road to a point in line with the eastern
boundary-line of Allotment 38 of Section 5, Suburbs of Auck-
land; thence by a right line to the southernmost corner of
that allotment; thence by the said Allotment 38 and Allot-
ment 40 of Section 5 aforesaid to its north-eastern corner;
thence by Section 7, Suburbs of Auckland, to the northern-
most corner of Allotment 10 of Section 5, Suburbs of Auck-
land; thence towards the north-east by the north-eastern
boundary-line of the said Allotment 10 to the New North
Road; thence across that road and by the eastern side of
Mount Roskill Road to the boundary of the Borough of Mount
Eden, as described in New Zealand Gazette No. 67 of the
9th August, 1906; thence towards the south-east by the said
Borough of Mount Eden to its westernmost corner; thence by
Allotments 125, 124, 123, and 122, Section 10, Suburbs of
Auckland, and the north-western boundary-line of the last-
mentioned allotment produced to the middle of Mount Albert
Road; thence towards the south generally by a line along
the middle of Mount Albert Road and the road forming the
southern boundary of Section 50, Parish of Titirangi, to a
point in line with the eastern boundary of Section 51, Parish
of Titirangi; thence by a right line to the north-eastern
boundary of that section; thence by the eastern and southern
boundary-line of the said Section 51 to the road at its
south-western corner; thence by that road to Oakley Creek;
thence down Oakley Creek to a point in line with the
southern boundary of Section 32, Parish of Titirangi, the
place of commencement.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
BOROUGH OF AVONDALE.
ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, bounded
towards the north generally by the Waitemata Harbour from
the Whau River to Oakley Creek; thence towards the east
generally by Oakley Creek aforesaid to the eastern side of
Richardson Road, forming the north-eastern boundary of
Section 94, Parish of Titirangi; thence again towards the
north-east by the eastern side of that road to its nearest
angle; thence by a line across that road to the western side
of road forming the north-eastern boundaries generally of
Sections 66 and 67, Parish of Titirangi; thence towards the
north-east generally by that roadside to the easternmost
corner of Section 67 aforesaid; thence towards the south-
east and south-west by the south-eastern and south-western
boundaries of Section 67 aforesaid to a point in line with the
eastern side of Boundary Road, forming the eastern bound-
aries of Sections 78 and 77, Parish of Titirangi; thence by a
right line to said eastern side of Boundary Road; thence
towards the south-east by said eastern side of Boundary Road,
and a right line across White Swan Road to the north-eastern
corner of Section 75, Parish of Titirangi; thence towards the
south-east by the eastern boundary-line of the last-mentioned
section to Manukau Harbour; thence towards the south
generally by Manukau Harbour to the western side of the
Whau-Portage Road; thence towards the west by that
roadside to Avondale Stream; and again towards the west
generally by that stream and the Whau River to Waitemata
Harbour, the place of commencement.
THIRD SCHEDULE.
B WARD.
ALL that area in the Borough of Mount Albert bounded on
the west and north by the borough boundary, on the east
by D Ward as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1911, page
973, and on the south-east by the New North Road.
A WARD.
All that area in the Borough of Mount Albert bounded
on the north-west by B Ward, hereinbefore described, on the
north-east by C Ward as described in New Zealand Gazette,
1911, page 973, and on the south-east and south-west by the
borough boundary.

Peace Treaty with Turkey.
Department of Internal Affairs,
Wellington, 25th August, 1924.
THE text of a cablegram relating to the Peace Treaty
with Turkey, received from the Secretary of State for
the Colonies, dated the 8th day of August, 1924, is published
herein for general information:
“His Majesty's ratification of Peace Treaty with Turkey
and other instruments forming Lausanne Peace Settlement
and ratifications of Italy and Japan having been deposited at
Paris, first proces verbal deposit of ratification has been drawn
up under Article No. 143, Treaty, and dated 6th August, from
which date peace settlement comes into force between the
High Contracting Parties who have ratified, and the state of
war between the British Empire and Turkey is at an end.”

Special Order made by the Lower Hutt Borough Council
Declaring Plant to be a Noxious Weed.—Notice No.
Ag. 2402.

THE following special order, made by the Lower Hutt
Borough Council, is published in accordance with
section 2 of the Noxious Weeds Amendment Act, 1910.

SPECIAL ORDER.
In exercise of the powers vested in it by the Noxious Weeds
Act, 1908, the Lower Hutt Borough Council hereby resolves
and declares by way of special order that the plant men-
tioned in the Schedule hereto (being a plant mentioned in the
Third Schedule of the said Act, as extended from time to
time by the Governor-General in Council) is a noxious weed
within the Borough of Lower Hutt.
SCHEDULE.
Hemlock.
The above resolution was passed at a special meeting of
the Council held on the 7th July, 1924, and duly confirmed
at a subsequent meeting on the 11th August, 1924.
Appointing the Time and Place for the First Meeting of the
Hawke's Bay Electric-power Board.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
section 4 of the Electric-power Boards Amendment
Act, 1920, I, Joseph Gordon Coates, Minister of Public
Works, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the 17th day of
September, 1924, at 2 o'clock p.m., as the time, and the
Hawke's Bay County Chambers, Browning street, Napier, as
the place, for holding the first meeting of the Hawke's Bay
Electric-power Board.
Dated at Wellington this 27th day of August, 1924.
