NOTICE UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the EDUCATION BOARD OF
THE DISTRICT OF AUCKLAND intends to erect a public
school, and to take under the provisions of the Public Works
Act, 1908, for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of a
public school, the following land, namely:-
All that piece of land situated in the Provincial District
of Auckland, containing five (5) acres two (2) roods
eleven and seven-tenths (11·7) perches, more or less,
being part of a block called Rangitoto-Tuhua Number
26F 2D Number 2, situated in Block I, Pakaumanu
Survey District.
A plan of the said land is deposited at the office of the
Te Kuiti Borough Council at Te Kuiti, and is there open
for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours. All
persons affected are hereby required and called upon to set
forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the erection
of the public school on the said land, or to the taking of the
said land, and to send such writing within forty days of the
first publication of this notice to the Education Board of the
District of Auckland at its office in Williamson's Chambers,
Shortland Street, Auckland.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and its amendments; and in the matter of GEORGE HOWE LIMITED
(in voluntary liquidation).

NOTICE is hereby given that the creditors of the above
company, which is being voluntarily wound up, are
required on or before the 28th day of August, 1924, being
the day fixed for that purpose by the undersigned, to send
their names and addresses and the particulars of their debts
or claims, and the names and addresses of their solicitors
(if any), to F. H. HARRIS, Liquidator of the above company ;
and, if so required by notice in writing from the said Liquidator, are by their solicitors to come in and prove their said
debts and claims at such time and place as shall be specified
in such notice, or in default thereof they will be excluded
from the benefit of any distribution made before such debts
are proved.

THE CORONATION SHIPPING COMPANY (LIMITED).

IN LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of shareholders of THE CORONATION SHIPPING COMPANY (LIMITED) will be held at the office of the Liquidator, 105 Customhouse Quay, Wellington, on Tuesday, the 12th day of August,
1924, at 2.30 p.m., for the purpose of laying before such
meeting the Liquidator’s accounts showing the manner in
which the winding-up has been conducted and the assets of
the company disposed of, and to offer any explanation the
Liquidator may wish to give; and for the purpose of passing
an extraordinary resolution as to the disposal of the books,
accounts, and documents of the company as required by the
Companies Act, 1908.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore
subsisting between THOMAS HUGH TORRENS, of Auckland,
Accountant, and GEORGE HENRY KNIGHT, of Auckland,
Agent, trading under the name of "Torrens and Knight," is
hereby dissolved by mutual consent as from the date hereof.
The said THOMAS HUGH TORRENS is now the sole proprietor of the publication of "The Auckland Motorists'
Handbook and Guide" only (now called "The New Zealand
Motorists' Handbook and Guide, Auckland Edition"), and
will pay and discharge all liabilities in respect thereof. All
liabilities in respect of all other publications contracted for
by the said Partnership will be paid and discharged by the
said GEORGE HENRY KNIGHT.

MORRINSVILLE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION STRIKING A SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, and of all
other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Morrinsville
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :-
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Morrinsville
Borough Council Inner Area Sewerage Connections Advances
Loan of £1,000, authorized to be raised by the said Council
under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of advancing
to property-owners a portion of the cost of connecting their
premises with the sewerage system, the said Council hereby
makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth of a penny in
the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the inner area of
the Borough of Morrinsville, as defined by resolution of the
said Council on the 24th day of May, 1923, and advertised
in the New Zealand Gazette of 7th June, 1923, on page 1619.
And that such rate shall be an annually recurring rate during
the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or
until the loan is fully paid off, and be payable yearly on the
1st day of July in each year during the currency of such loan.

BOROUGH OF DEVONPORT.
RESOLUTIONS STRIKING SPECIAL RATES.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and
of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Devonport Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:-

Loan of £5,500.

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Devonport
Borough Road-formation Loan of £5,500, 1924, authorized to
be raised by the Devonport Borough Council under the
above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of road-formation,
sewerage, and storm-water drainage, and water-supply mains
in that area known as the Old Cemetery Reserve, and described as part Lot 1 of Allotment 1, Section 1, Parish of
Takapuna, the said Devonport Borough Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of one-eighth (⅛th) of a penny in
the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the
unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough
of Devonport ; and that such special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year
during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty
(20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Loan of £1,500.

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Devonport
Borough Destructor Loan of £1,500, 1924, authorized to be
raised by the Devonport Borough Council under the abovementioned Act, for the purpose of the erection of a refuse destructor, the said Devonport Borough Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of one thirty-second (1/32nd) of a
penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the
basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the
Borough of Devonport ; and that such special rate shall be
an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan,
and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period
of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Loan of £6,000.

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Devonport
Borough (Merged Area) Drainage Loan of £6,000, 1924,
authorized to be raised by the Devonport Borough Council
under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of sewerdrainage work in that area originally forming part of the
Borough of Takapuna, but now merged in the Borough of
Devonport, the said Devonport Borough Council hereby
