MALACCA STRAIT, SOUTHERN PART.
One Fathom Bank, Shoal southward of.
Position.—At a distance of 2·05 miles 175° from One Fathom Bank Lighthouse. Lat. 2° 51′ N., long. 101° 00′ E. (approx.).
Depth.—3¾ fathoms (6m9).
Remarks.—The shoal is of small extent.
JAVA, NORTH-EAST COAST.
Surabaya Strait.—Existence of Shoal.
Position.—In West Gat, at a distance of 4·6 miles 188° from Sembilangan Lighthouse. Lat. 7° 08′ S., long. 112° 40′ E. (approx.).
Depth.—3½ fathoms (5m9).
NEW GUINEA.—SOUTH-EAST COAST.—CHINA STRAIT.
East Iguari Light.—Alteration in Period.
Mariners and others are hereby notified that the period of the flashing white light (U) on East Iguari Island has been altered.
Position.—Lat. 10° 33½′ S. Long. 150° 43½′ E., on Chart No. 1088.
Details.—The period of the flashing white light has been altered from one second to six seconds, thus: Flash ½ sec., eclipse 5½ sec.
NOTE.—In other respects the light will remain unaltered. No further notice will be given.

AUSTRALIA.—SOUTH COAST.—NUYTS ARCHIPELAGO.
St. Francis Island.—Intended New Light (U).
Mariners and others are hereby notified that a group flashing white light (U) will be established on St. Francis Island on or about 1st July, 1924.
Position.—On the summit of St. Francis Island. Lat. 32° 31′ S. ; long. 133° 18′ E., on Chart No. 1061.
Details.—
Character.—Group flashing white light showing four flashes every twelve seconds, thus: Flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec. ; flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec. ; flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec. ; flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 7⅔ sec.
Elevation—300 ft. Visibility—17 miles. Power—3,000 candles.
Structure.—White framework tower 42 ft. in height.
Remarks.—The light will be unwatched.
NOTE.—No further notice will be given.

NORTH PACIFIC OCEAN.—MARSHALL ISLANDS.
Kili Island.—Reported to lie further northward.
Position on Chart.—Kili Island, lat. 5° 35′ N., long. 169° 10′ E. (approx.).
Details—The note “ Repd. to lie 4 miles further North (1923) ” is to be inserted against Kili Island on the chart.
NORTH PACIFIC OCEAN.—MARIANAS (LADRONEs) ISLANDS.
Santa Rosa Reef.—Amended Position ; Shoal Depth to be expunged from Charts.
(a.) Santa Rosa Reef :
Amended Position—At a distance of about 22 miles north-eastward of charted position. Lat. 12° 49′ 30″ N., long. 144° 24′ 00″ E., on chart No. 1101.
Depth.—3¾ fathoms (6m9).
Remarks.—The note “ Santa Rosa Rf.” is to be inserted against the above position on chart No. 1101. The former position of this reef, marked by a circular danger line on the chart, with the note “ Santa Rosa Reef (position doubtful),” is to be expunged.
The 292 fathom (534m0) depth, shown on the chart close eastward of the amended position of Santa Rosa Reef, is also to be expunged.
(b.) Shoal depth to be expunged from chart :
Details.—The 12 fathom (21m9) depth, coral and sand, marked “ Dangerous Shoal,” shown on chart No. 1101 close to the above position, does not exist, and is to be expunged accordingly.
SOUTH PACIFIC OCEAN.—SAMOA (NAVIGATOR) ISLANDS.
Upolu Island.—Non-existence of Breakers and Rocks.
(a.) Breakers :
Position.—Off the northern coast of the island, in the north-eastern approach to Saluafata Harbour. Lat. 13° 50′ S., long. 171° 33′ W. (approx.).
Details.—The breakers reported in the year 1877, in the vicinity of the above position, do not exist, and the note in regard to them is to be expunged from the chart.
(b.) Rocks :
Position.—Off the southern coast of the island, at a distance of about one mile southward of Lepa. Lat. 14° 02′ S., long. 171° 30′ W. (approx.).
Details.—The group of rocks, shown on the charts in the above position, does not exist, and is to expunged.

UNITED STATES, PACIFIC COAST.—WASHINGTON.
Grays Harbour Entrance.—Temporary Fog-signal in Operation.
Position.—At Westport Lighthouse, southward of southern side of entrance. Lat. 46° 53′ N., long. 124° 07′ W. (approx.).
Description.—A fog-siren, sounding two blasts every thirty seconds, thus: Blast 4 sec., silent 2 sec. ; blast 4 sec., silent 20 sec.
UNITED STATES, ATLANTIC COAST.—MASSACHUSETTS, NANTUCKET SOUND ENTRANCE.
Handkerchief Shoal Light-vessel.—Alteration in Description of Vessel ; Alteration in Fog-signal.
(a.) Light-vessel :
Position.—Off the southern end of the shoal. Lat. 41° 29′ N., long. 70° 04′ W. (approx.).
Description.—Red hull, two masts, gallery and lantern at mainmast head, “ HANDKERCHIEF ” on sides.
(b.) Fog-signal :
Position.—On the above light-vessel.
Abridged Description.—Fog whistle ev. 30 sec. or bell.
Details.—The fog-bell has been replaced by a fog-whistle, sounding one blast every thirty seconds, thus: Blast 4 sec., silent 26 sec.
Remarks.—If the fog-whistle is disabled, a fog-bell will be sounded.
WEST INDIES.—GREAT BAHAMA BANK.
Santa Maria Cays.—Shoal reported northward of.
Position.—At a distance of about 2 miles 001° from Santa Maria Cays Lighthouse. Lat. 22° 43′ N., long. 78° 54′ W. (approx.).
Depth.—2¾ fathoms (5m0).
Remarks.—This shoal, which is reported by the master of Danish s.s. “ Emilie Maersk,” is to be marked “ Repd. (1924) (P.A.) ” on the charts.
BRAZIL, SOUTH-EAST COAST.—BAHIA DE GUANABARA, RIO DE JANEIRO.
Ilha do Governador, Shoal eastward of.
Position.—Close westward of Pedro do Boi rocks, at a distance of 2·7 cables 291° from the western extremity of Viraponga Islet. Lat. 22° 47′ S., long. 43° 08′ W. (approx.).
Depth.—23 ft. (7m0).
Remarks.—It is intended to establish a buoy to mark the position of this shoal.

NOTICE is hereby given that the education reserves described in the Schedule hereto will be offered for lease by public auction at the North Auckland District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, at 10 o’clock a.m., on Wednesday, 23rd July, 1924, under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1908, and amendments, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.
