Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.

Wellington, 6th June, 1924.

THE following notices, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Raglan, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

Loan of £4,000 for metalling certain Portions of the Port Waikato to Tuakau Bridge Road.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that the following is the result of a poll of the ratepayers of the Port Waikato – Tuakau Bridge No. 3 Special-rating District of the County of Raglan, taken on the 20th day of May, 1924, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £4,000 for the purpose of metalling certain portions of the Port Waikato to Tuakau Bridge Road in the above-named special-rating district of the County of Raglan :—

Total number of valid votes recorded, 34 : for the proposal, 34 ; against the proposal, nil.

As the total number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal are more than three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded, I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

Loan of £2,000 for clearing Willows and improving the Drainage of the Awaroa Creek.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that the following is the result of the poll of the ratepayers of the Awaroa Creek Special-rating District of the County of Raglan taken on the 20th day of May, 1924, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £2,000 for the purpose of clearing willows and improving the drainage of the Awaroa Creek in the above-named special-rating district of the County of Raglan :—

Total number of valid votes recorded, 26 : for the proposal, 15 ; against the proposal, 11.

As the total number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal are less than three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded, I hereby declare the proposal to be lost.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Onehunga, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF ONEHUNGA.

Result of Poll.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Onehunga taken on the 14th day of May, 1924, on the proposal of the Onehunga Borough Council to borrow the sum of £34,700 for the drainage of all that area of the Borough of Onehunga as described in the Schedule hereto,—

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 154 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 76.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
