NOTICE is hereby given that at a general meeting of the company held at Dunedin, 28th December, 1923, a special resolution was passed requiring the company to be wound up voluntarily, and HENRY WILSON, of Dunedin, Manager, and PETER WALKER, of Dunedin, Gentleman, were appointed Liquidators.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Auckland Electric Tramways Company (Limited), in liquidation, will cease to carry on business in New Zealand at the expiration of three months from the 17th January, 1924.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us, the undersigned THOMAS WILLIAM BARKER, JOHN CHRISTOPHER PENROSE, and ALEXANDER WILLIAM LORIMER, carrying on business as Sawmillers at Culverden under the style or firm of “The St. Leonards Sawmilling Company,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the thirty-first day of December, 1923, so far as regards the said ALEXANDER WILLIAM LORIMER. All debts due to and owing by the late firm will be received and paid by the said THOMAS WILLIAM BARKER and JOHN CHRISTOPHER PENROSE, who will continue to carry on the said business under the old style or firm.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

THE business of storekeepers at Waitoa hitherto carried on by ARTHUR WILLIAM JOHNSON and WILLIAM ABRAHAM POWELL, under the firm name or style of “Johnson and Powell,” is dissolved as from the 24th day of November, 1923. The business will in future be carried on by Mr. A. W. JOHNSON in his own name. All moneys due to the partnership will be received by Mr. A. W. JOHNSON, who will discharge the liabilities.

FRANKLIN COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE AS SECURITY FOR THE RUNCIMAN–PAERATA ROAD SPECIAL-RATING AREA LOAN OF £1,200.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Franklin County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of one thousand two hundred pounds (£1,200) authorized to be raised by the Franklin County Council under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of metalling the Runciman–Paerata Road, the said Franklin County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-eights (7/8) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Runciman–Paerata Road Special-rating area in Franklin County, comprising the lands described in the Schedule hereto; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off,

PALMERSTON NORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Palmerston North Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £20,000, authorized to be raised by the Palmerston North Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of extending the transmission and distribution lines within the borough, purchasing of plant, fittings, equipment, stock, apparatus, machinery, meters, motor-truck, and to provide financial assistance to consumers to enable them to connect with the supply, the said Palmerston North Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fifth of a penny (1/5d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Palmerston North, comprising the whole of the said borough, on the basis of the unimproved value; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

PALMERSTON NORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Palmerston North Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £12,000, authorized to be raised by the Palmerston North Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of undertaking and carrying out alterations, additions, extensions, and renovations to the municipal chambers, installation of heating system, purchase of furnishings and fittings, erection of workshops and store, and purchase of land at rear of present chambers upon which to erect such workshops and store, the said Palmerston North Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-ninth of a penny (1/9d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough of Palmerston North, comprising the whole of the said borough, on the basis of the unimproved value, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 20 years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
