Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.
Wellington, 22nd May, 1924.
THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Mackenzie, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

MACKENZIE COUNTY COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Mackenzie, taken on the 13th day of May, 1924, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £3,000 for the erection of bridges within the said county, the voting resulted as follows:— For the proposal, 367; against the proposal, 13.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Te Kuiti, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF TE KUITI.
PURSUANT to the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and amendments thereof, I hereby give public notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Te Kuiti was duly taken on Tuesday, the 9th day of October, 1923, upon the proposal to raise a special loan of £6,000 under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of streets-improvements.
The voting upon such loan proposal was as follows: For the proposal, 168; against the proposal, 119; informal, 2; total, 289.
I hereby declare such loan proposal duly carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Council of the County of Waitemata, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

COUNTY OF WAITEMATA.
Result of Proposal on Proposed Loan.
PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the special-rating area legally defined as a legal subdivision, and in accordance with the ratepayers’ roll and plan confirmed at a meeting of the Waitemata County Council held on the 20th day of March, 1924, and affecting portion of the Wainui and Pukeatua Ridings of the County of Waitemata, and more particularly known as the Silverdale Wharf and Turn-basin Loan Area, was taken on the 30th day of April, 1924, on the proposal of the Waitemata County Council to borrow the sum of £1,200 for the purpose of the construction of a wharf at Silverdale, in the Wade River, and the construction of a turn-basin in connection therewith.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 24, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 14.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice respecting Proposed Abolition of the Raupare Drainage District, County of Hawke’s Bay.

PURSUANT to the Land Drainage Act, 1908, it is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General praying that the Raupare Drainage District, in the County of Hawke’s Bay, may be abolished. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed abolition of the said drainage district which they desire to lodge, within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

Special Order made by the Tomahawk Road Board declaring that Californian Thistle shall be deemed not to be a Noxious Weed.—Notice No. Ag. 2386.

THE following special order, made by the Tomahawk Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Noxious Weeds Act.

SPECIAL ORDER.
In accordance with the powers conferred by section 3 of the Noxious Weeds Amendment Act, 1923, the Tomahawk Road Board hereby resolves by way of special order that the plant known as Cnicus arvensis (Californian thistle) shall be deemed not to be a noxious weed within the Road District of Tomahawk.
This resolution was passed at a special meeting of the Road Board on the 21st April, 1924, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting on the 19th May, 1924.
Notice of Intention to take Land in the Borough of Marton for the Purposes of a Post-office.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a post-office in the Borough of Marton, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Marton, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken: 2 roods 26 perches. Being Lots 10, 11, and 2, portion of Section 17, Rangitikei Agricultural Reserve, situated in Block V, Borough of Marton.
In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 59705, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.
