may be taken or killed within the Wellington Acclimatization District described in the Schedule hereto, except in any sanctuary or public domain, from the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, to the eleventh day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, both days inclusive, subject to the general regulations made by Order in Council dated the thirteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four.
And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill opossums within the said district shall be issued to any person on payment of the sum of two pounds ten shillings each; and the Chief Postmaster at Wellington, and the Postmasters at Featherston, Paraparaumu, Lower Hutt, Petone, Palmerston North, Upper Hutt, Levin, Taihape, Bull's, Marton, Masterton, Eketahuna, Carterton, Greytown, and Waikanae, are hereby appointed to sign and issue such licenses to take or kill opossums.

SCHEDULE.
WELLINGTON ACCLIMATIZATION DISTRICT.
COMPRISING all that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Wangaehu River, and proceeding thence up the middle of that river to a point due west about 18 chains from the western boundary of Block XIV, Mangawhero Survey District; thence along a right line through Okaipe Trig. Station to the summit of the eastern watershed of the Wangaehu River; thence north-westerly by lines from hill to hill along that summit to the Maungakaretu Trig. Station; thence south-easterly along a right line to a point in the middle of the Turakina River in line with the south-western boundary of Section 1, Block X, Maungakaretu Survey District; thence along that boundary, the southern boundary of the Ruanui No. 2 Block, and down the centre of the Panemango Stream to its confluence with the Tomakomako Stream; thence easterly along a right line to Trig. Station 32; thence northerly along a right line to Trig. Station 16, a right line to Trig. Station 17 (Auahitotara), a right line to Trig. Station 24 (Te Rotete), and a right line to Trig. Station 28 (Manukaiapu); thence easterly along a right line to Trig. Station 27 and a right line in the direction of Trig. Station 26 (Tawaki Tohunga) to its intersection with the middle of the Rangitikei River; thence down the middle of that river to its intersection with a right line between Trig. Stations 32 and 30 (Aorangi), and easterly along the said right line to Trig. Station 30; thence along a right line in the direction of the confluence of the northern branch of the Waipawa River with the Makaroro River to the summit of the Ruahine Range; thence southerly along the summit of the said range to the source of the Pourangaki Stream, and down that stream to its confluence with the Kawhatau Stream, down the middle of the said Kawhatau Stream to its confluence with the Rangitikei River; thence down the middle of the Rangitikei River to the Awahuri-Bull's Road, and easterly along that road to the Oroua River; thence up the middle of the Oroua River to the Wellington-New Plymouth Railway line; thence south-easterly along said railway-line and Stony Creek Road to the Palmerston-Ashhurst Road; thence north-easterly along that road to the northernmost corner of Section 454, Block VIII, Kairanga Survey District; thence south-easterly along the Raukawa Road fronting Sections 454 and 455 of the said block to the centre of the Manawatu River; thence up the middle of that river to and along the northern boundary of the Wellington Land District to the mouth of the Waimata River; thence southerly along the sea-coast to Cape Palliser, westerly generally along the sea-coast to Cape Terawhiti, and northerly along the sea-coast to the mouth of the Wangaehu River, the point of commencement: including all adjacent islands except Kapiti.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 26th day of May, 1924.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that opossums may be taken or killed within the Westland Acclimatization District described in the Schedule hereto, except in any sanctuary or public domain, from the thirty-first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, both days inclusive, subject to the regulations made by Order in Council dated the thirteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four.
And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill opossums within the said district shall be issued to any person on payment of the sum of two pounds ten shillings each; and the Chief Postmaster at Hokitika, and the Postmasters at Kumara, Ross, and Okarito, are hereby appointed to sign and issue such licenses to take or kill opossums.

ALL that area comprising the County of Westland.

JELLICOE, Governor-General.
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor-General may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Otago Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for recreation purposes.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 10 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Block X, Town of Hull. Bounded towards the west by Section 21 and part of Section 39, Block XI, Clarendon Survey District, 1056·2 links; towards the north-west by Crown land, Sections 5, 6, 7, and 8, Block VI, Town of Hull, the abutment of Leeds Street, and Sections 1, 2, 3, and 4, Block V, Town of Hull, 1,515 links; towards the south-east by a public road, 700 links; and again towards the south-east by Sections 1 to 11, Block IV, Town of Hull, and a public road, 1397·4 links; be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/195, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 21st day of May, 1924.

Changing the Purpose of a Reserve in the Parish of Waioeka, Gisborne Land District.

JELLICOE, Governor-General.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is a reserve duly set apart for the improvement and protection of the Waioeka River, being a purpose within Class I of the Second Schedule of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and such land is not vested in trust in any society, body corporate, or trustee:
And whereas it is expedient that such land should be appropriated for recreation purposes, being a purpose within Class III of the said Second Schedule:
Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the eleventh section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, do by this notification declare that the said land shall, from and after the thirty-first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-four, be appropriated for recreation purposes under Class III of the Public Reserves and Domains
