SOUTHLAND COUNTY COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR A PUBLIC ROAD.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Southland County Council proposes under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a public road at Caroline; and that for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.

And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands to be so taken is deposited with the Postmistress at Caroline, and is there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours, and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such lands should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing within forty (40) days from the 8th day of May, 1924, being the date of the first publication of this notice, addressed to “The Clerk, Southland County Council, Invercargill.”

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land containing 9 acres 1 rood 34 poles, more or less, situated in the District of Hokonui, adjoining Lots 1, 2, 5, and 7, plan No. 91, Township of Caroline plan No. 86, coloured red on the said plan, deposited with the Postmistress at Caroline.

All in the Land District of Southland; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan deposited as aforesaid.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership existing between DAN LUNJEVICH and ALEC YURETICH, both of Herekino, Storekeepers, has been dissolved as from the 24th day of March, 1924.

The business will be carried on by DAN LUNJEVICH, who takes over all liabilities of the Partnership and to whom all amounts are to be paid.

AUCKLAND DREDGING COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in the above company held on the 15th April, 1924, the following resolution was passed, and was subsequently confirmed at a further meeting held on the 6th May, 1924:—

“That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that WILLIAM JOHN ALEXANDER THOMSON, of Auckland, Accountant, be and he is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

COUNTY OF HAURAKI PLAINS,

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Hauraki Plains County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of twenty-eight thousand pounds (£28,000), authorized to be raised by the Hauraki Plains County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the construction of bitumen roads in the Horahia Riding Special-rating Area, the said Hauraki Plains County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 3½d. in the pound upon the rateable value (unimproved) of all rateable property in the Horahia Riding of the County of Hauraki Plains, the said Horahia Riding Special-rating Area comprising the whole of the Riding of Horahia of the County of Hauraki Plains; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, bring a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off, to Ernest Walton, County Treasurer, at the County office at Ngatea.

COUNTY OF HAURAKI PLAINS.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Hauraki Plains County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of one thousand four hundred and fifty pounds (£1,450), authorized to be raised by the Hauraki Plains County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the construction of drainage-works in the Horahia–Opou Special Drainage District Rating-area, the said Hauraki Plains County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 4/5d. in the pound upon the rateable value (unimproved) of all rateable property in the Horahia–Opou Special Drainage District Rating-area, comprising all that area of land in the County of Hauraki Plains bounded as follows—Commencing at a point in the south-western corner of Section 3s, Horahia Settlement, thence in a northerly direction along the western boundary of that section and the western boundary of that section produced to intersect the northern boundary of Section 11, Block II, Waihou Survey District; thence along the northern boundary of that section to its north-eastern corner; from thence in a north-easterly direction to a point in the centre of the western boundary of Lot 18, D.P. 7492; thence along the western boundary of the Hauraki Drainage District in a southerly direction to a point in the centre of the eastern boundary of Section 1A, Block VII, Waihou Survey District; thence in a south-westerly direction to a point on the eastern boundary of Section 2, Block VII, Waihou Survey District, 10 chains south from the north-easterly corner of that section; thence by right lines generally in a westerly and north-westerly direction of 25 chains and 14 chains respectively to the north-eastern corner of Section 3, Block VII, Waihou Survey District; thence by a right line in a north-westerly direction to a point on the northern boundary of Section 9, Block II, Waihou Survey District, 30 chains distant from the north-western corner of that section; thence generally in a north-westerly direction by right lines parallel to and 30 chains distant from the eastern side of the Kerepehi–Kopuarahi Road to the south-western corner of Section 3B 1B 2, Horahia–Opou Block; thence along the western boundary of that block to its north-western corner; thence by right line to the point of commencement; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of July
