His Majesty's Assent to the British Nationality and Status of Aliens (in New Zealand) Act, 1923, and Date Act comes into Operation.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the British Nationality and Status of Aliens (in New Zealand) Act, 1923, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the assent of His Majesty has been given to the British Nationality and Status of Aliens (in New Zealand) Act, 1923, and that the said Act shall come into operation on the day of the date of publication of this Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 13th day of May, 1924.

Regulations under the British Nationality and Status of Aliens (in New Zealand) Act, 1923.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 13th day of May, 1924.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on him by section fifteen of the British Nationality and Status of Aliens (in New Zealand) Act, 1923 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following regulations for the purposes of the said Act.
REGULATIONS.

THE qualifying period of residence in New Zealand for persons applying for naturalization shall be three years.

A certificate of naturalization granted in New Zealand shall, save as otherwise hereinafter prescribed, be in one of the following forms :β
(A.) Where the Names of Children are not included.

CERTIFICATE OF NATURALIZATION.
WHEREAS A.B., of , in the Dominion of New Zealand, , has applied for a certificate of naturalization, in conformity with the British Nationality and Status of Aliens (in New Zealand) Act, 1923, alleging that he [she] was born at on the day of , in the year , and I am satisfied that the conditions laid down in the above-mentioned Act for the grant of a certificate of naturalization are fulfilled in his [her] case.
Now, therefore, in pursuance of the powers conferred on me by the said Act, I grant to the said A.B. this certificate of naturalization, and declare that he [she] shall, subject to the provisions of the said Act, be entitled in New Zealand to all political and other rights, powers, and privileges, and be subject to all obligations, duties, and liabilities, to which a natural-born British subject is entitled or subjected and shall have in New Zealand to all intents and purposes the status of a natural-born British subject.
