Notice to Mariners No. 21 of 1924.
PROHIBITED ANCHORAGE AND TRAWLING AREAS.
Marine Department,
Wellington, N.Z., 28th March, 1924.

ANCHORAGE is prohibited in the northern approach to Auckland within the following limits:—
(a.) From the Cable Hut, Takapuna Beach: On the west by line in 036° direction, for 1·06 miles; thence by line 012°, for 6·38 miles; thence by line 067°, for 7·55 miles; thence by line 005°, for 1·88 miles.
(b.) On the north by a line from northern extreme of limit (a) in 090° direction, for 2·55 miles.
(c.) On the east by a line from the eastern extremity of limit (b) in a 210° direction, for 3·28 miles; thence by a line 248°, for 7·72 miles; thence by a line 195°, for 5·92 miles; thence by a line 226°, for 0·88 miles; thence by a line 286°, to the Cable Hut. -
Doubtless Bay: Anchorage is prohibited within the following limits:—
(a.) On the east by a line 215° from Flat Head to the beach.
(b.) On the west by a line 335° from Taipa River entrance.
(c.) On the north by an arc forming part of the circumference of a circle with a 3 miles radius from the Fairway Reef. -
Anchorage and trawling is prohibited within the area two miles east and west of the meridian 175 deg. between the latitudes of 35° 50′ S. and 36° 35½′ S. The caution shown on Chart No. 2543 is to be altered to read accordingly.

Anchorage and trawling on the west coast is prohibited in the area between 36° 46′ S. and 36° 50′ S., extending from the shore for a distance of 25 miles.
Publications, &c., affected: Admiralty Charts Nos. 1896, 1970, 2525, 2543; “New Zealand Pilot,” ninth edition, 1919, pages 138 and 188.
This notice supersedes Notice to Mariners No. 15 of 1924, which should be destroyed.

THE following notices to mariners, which have been received from the Department of Trade and Customs, Melbourne, and the Acting Comptroller of Customs, Suva, are published for general information.

TASMANIA.—NORTH COAST.—BURNIE.
Round Hill Point.—Light established (U).
WITH reference to Notice No. 21 of 1923, mariners and others are hereby notified that the flashing light with white and red sectors (U) on Round Hill Point has been established.
Position.—On Round Hill Point at a distance of 6·5 cables 058½° from Round Hill 717 ft. Lat. 41° 03¾′ S.; long. 146° 00′ E.
Details.—
Character.—Flashing with White and Red sectors, every three seconds, thus: Flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 2⅔ secs.
Elevation.—100 ft.
Visibility.—White light; 16 miles. Red light, 12 miles.
Sectors.—Red from 106° to 132°; White from 132° through south and west to 292°; obscured elsewhere.
Power.—White light, 3,000 candles. Red light, 1,200 candles.
Structure.—White square concrete house with white lantern 22 ft. in height.
Remarks.—The light is unwatched.
NOTE.—No further notice will be given.

TASMANIA.—NORTH COAST.—HALF-MOON BAY.
Hyfield Point.—Light established (U).
With reference to Notice No. 25 of 1923, mariners and others are hereby notified that a group flashing white light (U) on Hyfield Point has been established.
Position.—On the summit of Hyfield Point (134′), 1·6 cables distant, bearing 201° from Circular Head Light. Lat. 40° 44′ S.; long. 145° 17′ E., on Chart No. 3687.
Details.—
Character.—Group Flashing White showing three flashes every nine seconds, thus: Flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec.; flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 1 sec.; flash ⅓ sec., eclipse 6 secs.
Elevation.—150 ft.
Visibility.—18 miles.
Power.—3,000 candles.
Structure.—White square wooden house with white lantern, 22 ft. in height.
Remarks.—The light will be unwatched. The fixed light on Circular Head will be continued as heretofore.
NOTE.—No further notice will be given.

WARNING TO SHIPPING.
His Majesty’s Customs,
Suva, 23rd February, 1924.
The following warning was received at Suva-radio from Apia at 8.39 p.m. on the 19th instant:—
“Menace to avigation: The ‘Mary Harlock,’ 400 ft. long, lumber laden, abandoned 26th January, 1924, in lat. 32 north 154 east. Probably still afloat. Vessels bound for Yokohama requested to keep sharp lookout. Communications, Pearl Harbour.”

NEW EDITION: TABLES FOR AZIMUTHS, ETC.

NOTICE is hereby given that the New Zealand Marine Department has now published—
“Tables for Azimuths, Great-Circle Sailing, and Reductions to the Meridian, with an Improved ‘Sumner’ and Marcq St. Hilaire Method.”
Vol. I, 480 pages (latitudes 0° to 60°; declinations 89½° N. to 89½° S.). Price 21s.
Vol. II, 460 pages (latitudes 60½° to 89½°; declinations 89½° N. to 89½° S.). Price 21s.
“Azimuths through A, B, and C Tables for every Minute of Time for all the Heavenly Bodies at any Time the Body is above the Horizon; and Great-Circle Sailing Courses for all Latitudes.” Also (separately through Table D) “Azimuths with Hour-angle and Altitude for all Latitudes and all Celestial Bodies.”
Also an improved “Traverse Table and other useful Navigational Tables with numerous examples of Azimuths, Great-Circle Sailing Problems, Double Altitudes, Equal Altitudes, &c.,” by H. S. Blackburne (Extra Master, London), Late Nautical Adviser and Principal Examiner of Masters and Mates in New Zealand.

Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.—Declaration by the Assistant Registrar dissolving a Society.
I, WILLIAM GREER FLETCHER, Assistant Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it been made to appear to me that the Bay of Islands Kingfish Club (Incorporated) is no longer carrying on its operations, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.
