“Provided that the teachers whose salaries are £335 to £375 shall be placed in Grading Group 5 and the sole teachers of Model Schools in Grading Group 4.”
(5.) By revoking all the words after “entitled” in subclause (8), and inserting in lieu thereof: “to the same annual increment as a public-school teacher receiving the same grade of salary. Those not receiving the same grades of salary as public-school teachers shall receive an annual increment of £10.”
(6.) By revoking subclause (9), and substituting—
“The provisions of the regulations as amended by this Order relating to salaries of public-school teachers respecting commencing salaries, salaries on transfer and annual increments, and of clauses 3, 4, 5, and 6 of Part I of these regulations shall apply, mutatis mutandis, to teachers on the staffs of normal schools, and should any dispute or difficulty arise respecting the meaning or effect of the regulations as amended by this Order, the question shall be submitted to the Minister, whose decision thereon shall be final and conclusive.
“The grades of salaries referred to in this clause are the grades of salaries prescribed for assistant teachers of public schools.”

Clause 11 of the regulations is hereby amended by substituting, in subclause (2), “£85” for “£105” and “£80” for “£100.”

Clause 12 of the regulations is hereby amended by substituting, in subclause (2), “£65” for “£85” and “£60” for “£80.”

Clauses 2 and 4, so far as they affect students of Division A and those students of Divisions B, C, and D who were admitted to a training college prior to 1st February, 1924, shall not come into operation till 1st February, 1925.
IV. REGULATIONS REGARDING NATIVE-SCHOOL TEACHERS’ SALARIES.
- The regulations relating to Native schools made by Order in Council dated 12th April, 1915, and amended by Orders in Council dated 17th December, 1918, 17th November, 1919, and 17th October, 1920, are hereby further amended with respect to Part XIII as follows:—
(a.) By revoking Schedule I, and substituting—

NOTES.—(1). A deduction of £10 per annum shall be made from the salary provided above in the case of every uncertificated teacher who is not the holder of a licence to teach, except in the case of salaries of £60–£80 and £80–£100.
(2.) Unmarried head teachers of Grades II (i) upwards receive £2 per annum less than amounts shown above.
(3.) In addition to the salary shown above there shall be paid by way of salary the sum of £35 per annum in the case of every assistant teacher who is obliged to live away from home.
(b.) By revoking subclause (3) of clause 2 of the regulations, and substituting—
“(3.) There shall be paid to each certificated assistant teacher in a Native school the addition to salary provided in clause 4 of Schedule V of the regulations relating to the salaries of public-school teachers, provided that for the purpose of calculating such addition to salary the first assistant of a school of Grade 4 or a higher grade shall be placed in Group 2 of Schedule V and all other assistants in Group 1.”
(c.) By revoking subclause (4) of clause 2 of the regulations.
- Clauses 3, 4, 5, and 7 of Part I of this Order, relating to public-school teachers’ salaries, shall, mutatis mutandis, apply to the salaries of assistant teachers in Native schools.
