ELECTION OF MEMBER OF THE PHARMACY BOARD
OF NEW ZEALAND.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is my intention to
proceed on Friday, the 25th day of April, 1924, to
the election of one registered pharmaceutical chemist of
New Zealand to serve as member of the Pharmacy Board
of New Zealand, in the place of Harold Rodier Gibbs, who
has resigned, such member to hold office until 31st December,
1925, and to be elected by the registered pharmaceutical
chemists residing within the district of Wellington, the
boundaries of which are the same as those of the Provincial
Districts of Wellington, Hawke’s Bay, Nelson, and Marl-
borough.
Nominations will close at the office of the Registrar, 41
Ballance Street, Wellington, at 12 noon, on Wednesday, the
9th day of April, 1924.
Forms of nomination may be obtained on application to
the Registrar or Deputy Registrars.

PICTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of
all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Picton
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Picton
Borough Electrical Installation Loan of £6,600, 1924, autho-
rized to be raised by the Picton Borough Council under the
above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of (a) installing an
80 k.w. electrical power plant and reticulation, £5,600 ;
(b) installing meters, £1,000 ; the said Picton Borough
Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-
eighths (7/8ths) of a penny in the pound sterling on the
rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of
all rateable property in the whole of the Borough of Picton ;
and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring
rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly
on the first day of January in each and every year during
the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and
a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

RESOLUTION INCREASING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf the Local Bodies’ Loan Act, 1913, and of
all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Picton
Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of
interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Picton
Borough Electrical Installation Loan of £6,600, 1924, autho-
rized to be raised by the Picton Borough Council under the
above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of (a) installing an
80 k.w. electrical power plant and reticulation, £5,600 ;
(b) installing meters, £1,000 ; the said Council, pursuant to
section 22 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, hereby
increases to nineteenth-twentieths (19/20ths) of a penny in
the pound sterling the special rate of seven-eighths (7/8ths)
of a penny in the pound sterling made and levied by resolu-
tion passed by the said Council on the 13th day of March,
1924, on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved
value) of all rateable property in the whole of the Borough
of Picton, such rate of seven-eighths (7/8ths) of a penny
in the pound sterling being insufficient to provide for pay-
ment of interest and sinking fund and other charges on
such loan ; and that such special rate as increased shall be
an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan,
and be payable yearly on the first day of January in each
and every year during the currency of such loan, being a
period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or until the loan
is fully paid off.

MARTON BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the
Marton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows :—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of six thousand pounds (£6,000) authorized
to be raised by the said Marton Borough Council under the
above-mentioned Act for the purpose of providing and laying
water-mains, fittings, services, stop-valves, toby-boxes,
stop-valve covers, lead, bricks, cement, gravel, &c., within
the Marton Junction Special Water-supply Area, the said
Marton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of twopence half-penny (2½d.) in the pound sterling
upon the rateable value of all the rateable property (on the
basis of the unimproved value) of the Marton Junction
Special Water-supply Area, comprising all that area added
to the Marton Borough as defined by notice published in the
New Zealand Gazette on the 9th day of December, 1920,
page 3217—excepting therefrom all those sections to the
north of Bond Street and Bond Street Extension, and excepting
also 24 acres 2 roods 16 perches of Lot 1, part Section 11,
Block III, Wellington Road (James McChesney, owner),
and 8 acres 2 roods of part Section 12, Block III, Wellington
Road (R. E. Beckett, owner)—such special area being finally
fixed by Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M., dated 17th December,
1923 ; and that such special rate shall be an annually
recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be
payable half-yearly on the first days of June and December
in each and every year during the currency of such loan,
being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of sections
230 and 231 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a
general meeting of the members of the above-named com-
pany will be held at the office of the Liquidator, No. 44
Maria Place, Wanganui, on Monday, the 7th April, 1924,
at 10 a.m. for the purpose of having an account laid before
them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been
conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and
of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Li-
quidator, and also of determining by extraordinary resolu-
tion the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents
of the company and of the Liquidator thereof shall be dis-
posed of.
