Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, fixing the Closing-hours of (1) Fruiterers’ and (2) Bakers’ Shops in the Town District of Outram.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the trades of (1) fruiterer, and (2) baker, in the Town District of Outram, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the town district be closed in the evening of working-days as follows—on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 10.30 p.m.:
And whereas I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the said trades in the said town district:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, I do hereby direct that on and after the 25th day of February, 1924, all the shops in each of the trades of (1) fruiterer, and (2) baker, in the Town District of Outram shall be closed accordingly.
The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 2nd February, 1905, fixing the closing-hours of shops in the Town District of Outram, is hereby cancelled in so far as it relates to the shops affected by this notice, as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, fixing the Closing-hours of (1) Boot-dealers’, (2) Drapers’, (3) Clothiers’, and (4) Mercers’ Shops in the Borough of Ashburton.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the trades of (1) boot-dealer, (2) draper, (3) clothier, and (4) mercer, in the Borough of Ashburton, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough be closed in the evening of working-days as follows—on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 6 p.m., and on Friday at 9 p.m., with the following exception—9 p.m. on Thursday for those shops which are closed during the whole of Friday in any week:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, I do hereby direct that on and after the 25th day of February, 1924, all the shops in each of the trades of (1) boot-dealer, (2) draper, (3) clothier, and (4) mercer, within the Borough of Ashburton, shall be closed accordingly.
The notice gazetted on the 10th June, 1909, fixing the closing-hours of drapers, clothiers, and boot-merchants’ shops in the Borough of Ashburton is hereby cancelled as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, fixing the Closing-hours of all Shops in the Mount Hutt Road District.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in the Mount Hutt Road District, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all shops in the district be closed in the evening of working-days as follows—On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 6 p.m., and on Friday at 9 p.m., with the following exception—9 p.m. on Thursday for those shops which are closed during the whole of Friday in any week:
And whereas I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops within the said district:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, I do hereby direct that on and after the 25th day of February, 1924, all the shops within the Mount Hutt Road District shall be closed accordingly.
The notice gazetted on the 15th February, 1917, fixing the closing-hours of all shops in the Mount Hutt Road District, is hereby cancelled as from the date of coming into operation of this notice.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, fixing the Closing-hours of (1) Drapers’, (2) Clothiers’, and (3) Mercers’ Shops in the Borough of Rotorua.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the trades of (1) draper, (2) clothier, and (3) mercer, in the Borough of Rotorua, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops in the borough be closed in the evening of working-days as follows—On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 5.30 p.m., and on Saturdays at 9 p.m.; with the following exceptions—(1) Where the occupier of any shop affected by this requisition observes the statutory half-holiday on Saturdays the closing-hour for such shop on Fridays shall be 9 p.m. and on Wednesdays 5.30 p.m.; (2) where Anniversary Day, Good Friday, Anzac Day, or the birthday of the reigning sovereign falls on the day usually observed as the late night pursuant to this requisition and is observed in any shop as a whole holiday the closing-hour of that shop on the previous evening shall be 9.30 p.m. instead of 5.30 p.m.; (3) the hour of closing on two only of the last six working-days immediately preceding Christmas Day and the hour of closing on two such working-days between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day shall be 10 p.m.:
And whereas I, George James Anderson, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the shops in each of the said trades in the said borough:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921-22, I do hereby direct that on and after the 25th day of February, 1924, all the shops in each of the trades of (1) draper, (2) clothier, and (3) mercer, in the Borough of Rotorua, shall be closed accordingly.
The notice published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 19th July, 1906, fixing the closing-hours of drapers, general storekeepers, and boot-and-shoe dealers’ shops in the Town District of Rotorua is hereby cancelled in so far as it relates to the shops affected by this notice, as from the date of the coming into operation of this notice.

I, WILLIAM GREER FLETCHER, Assistant Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that the Hauraki Plains Settlers’ Association (Incorporated) Society is no longer carrying on its operations, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.

Notice to Mariners No. 10 of 1924.
BAY OF ISLANDS.—OPUA WHARF.—WIDENING OPERATIONS COMPLETED.—WHARF LIGHT RE-ESTABLISHED.

Wellington, N.Z., 16th February, 1924.
THE Bay of Islands Harbour Board notify that the Opuā Wharf has been widened and extended 160 ft. further seaward, and that a fixed red light has been installed on the end of the wharf at an elevation of 6 ft. above the wharf-decking and at a distance of 26 ft. from the eastern or channel face of the wharf.
The light will be visible from 135° through south to 247°.
This notice supersedes and cancels Notice to Mariners No. 44, of 21st August, 1923.
