thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute
a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road,
and for the purposes of such public work the land described
in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is
hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to
be taken is deposited in the post-office at Taupiri, and is
there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by
the execution of the said public work or by the taking
of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded
objections to the execution of the said public work or to the
taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send
such writing, within forty days from the first publication of
this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

SPECIAL ORDER.

It was resolved, pursuant to the provisions of the Noxious
Weeds Act, 1908, by the Portobello Road Board, that gorse
and broom be and are hereby declared noxious weeds within
the Portobello Road Board District.

Award of Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers’ Decoration.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has be pleased to
approve of the award of the Colonial Auxiliary
Forces Officers’ Decoration to Lieutenant-Colonel J. H.
Moir, the Otago Regiment.

Cancellation of Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22,
fixing the Closing-hours of Confectioners’ Shops in the Borough
of Motueka.

———

WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a
majority of the occupiers of all the confectioners’
shops in the Borough of Motueka, has been forwarded to
me, desiring that the notice gazetted on the 18th August,
1921, fixing the closing-hours of confectioners’ shops in
the said borough be cancelled:

And whereas I, George James Anderson, Minister of
Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition
represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops
in the said borough:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops
and Offices Act, 1921–22, I do hereby direct that the notice
gazetted on the 18th August, 1921, fixing the closing-hours
of confectioners’ shops in the Borough of Motueka shall be
and is hereby cancelled as from the date hereof.
