PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Kawaha Point Special-rating District, in the County of Rotorua, taken on the 12th day of December, 1923, on a proposal to borrow the sum of £300 for the purpose of forming and culverting the roads and crossings giving access to the Kawaha Point, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Redefining Boundaries of the Borough of Oamaru, and the County of Waitaki.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 141 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the boundaries of the Borough of Oamaru are hereby defined as set out in the First Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the said borough having been altered by Order in Council dated the 8th day of October, 1923, made under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and published in Gazette No. 23 of the 11th day of October, 1923 :

And also, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section 141 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the boundaries of the County of Waitaki affected by the said Order in Council dated the 8th day of October, 1923, are hereby defined as set out in the Second Schedule hereto.


FIRST SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF BOROUGH OF OAMARU.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District commencing at the most northerly point of Lot 63 (Lighthouse Reserve) Block IV, Oamaru Survey District, thence proceeding in a south-westerly direction to the westernmost corner of the said Lot 63, Block IV, aforesaid; thence westerly, north-westerly, and north-easterly along the north-eastern and eastern boundaries generally of Blocks IV and II, Oamaru Survey District, to the south-western corner of Block I, Oamaru Survey District; thence south-easterly along the northern side of the town North Boundary Road to a public road; across that road; thence north-westerly along that road for a distance of 278·4 links; thence south-westerly by Allotment 34, for a distance of 766·7 links; thence north-easterly by Allotment 34 aforesaid, for a distance of 634 links; thence north-westerly by Allotment 34 aforesaid to the southernmost corner of the land shown on L.T. plan 2456, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Dunedin; thence north-easterly along the eastern boundary of the lands shown on L.T. plans 2456, 2874, and 1630, deposited as aforesaid, and its production for a distance of 2923·5 links; thence north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of Section 6, Block I, Oamaru Survey District, for a distance of 445 links; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of Allotment 12, deeds plan 163, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar, at Dunedin; north-westerly along the north-eastern boundary of Allotment 12 aforesaid, for a distance of 60 links; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundaries of Allotments 13 and 14, deeds plan 163 aforesaid, to Pine Street; across Pine Street; and thence south-easterly along the north-eastern side of Pine Street to the Main North Road; thence north-easterly along the Main North Road to the north-eastern boundary of Section 10, Block I, Oamaru Survey District; thence by a right line across the Main North Road to the eastern side thereof, and north-easterly along that side of road to the westernmost corner of Allotment 2, deeds plans 75, as deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Dunedin; thence south-easterly along the south-western boundaries of Allotments 2 and 3 aforesaid, to the western boundary of the Southern Main Trunk Railway; thence south-westerly along the western side of the aforesaid railway to the town North Boundary Road; thence south-easterly along the northern side of that road to the sea; thence by the sea to the most northerly point of Lot 63, Block IV, Oamaru Survey District, the point of commencement.


SECOND SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF COUNTY OF WAITAKI.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, bounded by a line from the summit of Mount McKerrow in the Southern Alps to the source of the Hopkins River; thence down the centre of that river to Lake Ōhau, and along the eastern shore of Lake Ōhau to the Ōhau River; thence down the centre of that river and the Waitaki River to the sea; thence towards the east by the sea to the northernmost point of Block III, Moeraki Survey District; thence westerly along the northern boundaries of that block to a closed road along the summit of the Horse Range, across that closed road, and north-westerly along western side of the said closed road to its junction with the road forming the western boundary of Section I, Block IX, Moeraki Survey District; thence northerly and westerly along the western side of that road to the north-eastern corner of Block VI, Moeraki Survey District; thence westerly along part of the southern boundary of Section 31, Block XI, Moeraki Survey District, to the western boundary of the said section; thence northerly along the western boundaries of Sections 31, 5, 4, 1 of 3, 2, and 1, Block XI, Moeraki Survey District, to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned section; thence westerly along the southern boundaries of Sections 22, 10, and 5, Block XIII, Moeraki Survey District, the southern boundary of Section 9, and the southern and western boundaries of Section 3, Block XIV, Moeraki Survey District, to a public road; across that road; thence north-westerly along the northern side of that public road to the western boundary of Section 8, Block XV, Moeraki Survey District; thence northerly along the western boundary of the said Section 8 to the Waianakarua River; thence north-westerly up that river and along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 46, 45, 44, and 43, Block III, Waihemo Survey District, and the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, and 2, Block V, Waihemo Survey District, to the northernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundaries of Runs 109, 217C, and 217, to the Kakanui Mountains; thence along the summit of the Kakanui Mountains and through the Maruwenua Pass to Kyeburn Hill; thence westerly along the range to Mount Ida; thence north-westerly along the summit of the Hawkdua Range to a point due east of Mount St. Bathans; thence by a right line from that point to Mount St. Bathans; thence northerly along the summit of the St. Bathans and Wether Ranges to Lindis Pass; through the Lindis Pass to Longslip Peak; thence along the summit of the range, passing through Mount Martha, Mount Gladwish, and Mount Huxley, to Mount Strauchon; thence along the summit of the Southern Alps to Mount McKerrow, the point of commencement; excluding therefrom the Boroughs of Oamaru and Hampden.

Approval of Fees for Licensing of Vehicles fixed by By-laws—Mangonui County Council.

Wellington, 22nd December, 1923.

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 109 of the Counties Act, 1920, that so much of the by-laws made by the Mangonui County Council and sealed on the 7th day of December, 1923, as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Mangonui County funds for the licensing of vehicles plying for hire has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor-General.

IT is hereby notified, in accordance with section 109 of the Counties Act, 1920, that so much of the by-laws made by the Manukau County Council and sealed on the 20th day of November, 1923, as appoints the several sums to be paid to the Manukau County funds for the licensing of vehicles plying for hire has this day been approved by His Excellency the Governor-General.
