THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the City of Auckland, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

CITY OF AUCKLAND.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the City of Auckland was taken on the 28th day of November, 1923, on the proposals of the Auckland City Council to borrow the following amounts, and the numbers of votes recorded for and against each proposal were as follows :-
Proposal No. 1, Tramways. -Provision of additional plant, accessories, and buildings for, and further extension and development of, Auckland City Tramways, £280,000 : Votes recorded for the proposal, 1,184 ; votes recorded against the proposal, 391 ; informal, 43.
Proposal No. 2, Waterworks. -Development, extension, and improvement of the waterworks of the City of Auckland and acquisition of real and personal property therefor, £300,000 : Votes recorded for the proposal, 1,145 ; votes recorded against the proposal, 431 ; informal, 42.
Proposal No. 3, Drainage. -Drainage-work within the City of Auckland, £120,000 : Votes recorded for the proposal, 1,180 ; votes recorded against the proposal, 391 ; informal, 47.
Proposal No. 4, Quarry. -Provision for stone-crushing plant and/or for quarry-development, £10,000 : Votes recorded for the proposal, 1,091 ; votes recorded against the proposal, 448 ; informal, 79.
I therefore declare that each of the foregoing proposals was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor of the Council of the Borough of Palmerston North, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

PALMERSTON NORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that on Friday, the 16th day of November, 1923, a poll was taken of the ratepayers of the Borough of Palmerston North, upon proposals to raise special loans of £20,000 and £12,000 for the purpose of extending the electrical reticulation within the borough, and for the carrying-out of alterations and additions to the municipal buildings respectively, the result of the voting being as follows :-
Electric Light and Plant Loan of £20,000. -For the proposal, 586 ; against the proposal, 201 ; informal, 7.
Alterations and Additions to Municipal Buildings Loan of £12,000. -For the proposal, 484 ; against the proposal, 294 ; informal, 16.
I therefore declare that the above proposals were duly carried.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Ngongotaha Water-supply Special-rating District taken on the 12th day of December, 1923, on a proposal to borrow the sum of £6,000 for the purpose of installing a water-supply system for Ngongotaha District, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 28, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 1.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
