ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 22nd day
of December, 1923.
Present:
THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by
the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers
in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that
the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall,
on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a
Government road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area of land in the Westland Land District, con-
taining by admeasurement 14 acres, more or less, being
part of road reserve along south bank of Hokitika River,
Block V, Kanieri Survey District, adjoining Sections 1139
and 1219. As the same is more particularly delineated on
the plan marked P.W.D. 58216, deposited in the office of
the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington
Land District, and thereon coloured burnt sienna and edged
red.

THE HONOURABLE SIR FRANCIS BELL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by
section forty of the Public Reserves and Domains Act,
1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby
appoint
Tom Preston,
Alexander Atkins,
William Sadler,
William Wilson Shanks, and
Charles Ernest Gibson
to be the Te Arai Domain Board, having control of the land
described in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby appoint
Tuesday, the nineteenth day of February, one thousand nine
hundred and twenty-four, at eight o'clock p.m., as the time
when, and the residence of Mr. Tom Preston, Manutuke, as
the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase
Board, referred to in section three hundred and
sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise
of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that
section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby
extend for a further period of six months the Order in
Council dated the ninth day of January, one thousand nine
hundred and twenty-three, and gazetted the eighteenth day
of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three,
prohibiting all alienation of the Native land specified in the
Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of the Crown.

sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise
of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that
section and by section one hundred and eleven of the
Native Land Amendment Act, 1913 (as amended by sec-
tion eight of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land
Claims Adjustment Act, 1916), His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof,
doth hereby extend for a further period of eighteen months
the Order in Council dated the thirty-first day of July, one
thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, and gazetted the
third day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-
two, prohibiting all alienation of the Native land specified in
the Schedule hereto other than alienation in favour of the
Crown.
