CITY OF AUCKLAND.
THE following resolution was passed at a meeting of the Auckland City Council held on the 29th day of November, 1923:—
In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £16,000, authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of the erection of library buildings, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fifth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the City of Auckland, comprising the whole of the said city; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £70,000, authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of tramways development, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-eighths of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the City of Auckland, comprising the whole of the said city; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £190,000 authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of street paving and improvement, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twopence farthing in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the City of Auckland, comprising the whole of the said city; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Auckland City Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £40,000 authorized to be raised by the Auckland City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of erecting workers’ dwellings, the said Auckland City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-eighths of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the City of Auckland, comprising the whole of the said city; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WAIAPU COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1908.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Waiapu County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the construction of a road—and for the purpose of such work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.
Notice is further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public offices of the Clerk to the said Council at Waipiro Bay, and is open for inspection by all persons during ordinary office hours. All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of such public work or to the taking of such lands, must state their objections in writing and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at the Council Chamber, Waipiro Bay.
