5th December, 1923, on the proposal of the Piako County Council to borrow the sum of £13,150 for the purposes following :—
Metalling roads from Kiwitahi School to junction of Starkey’s Road, three and a half miles .. 3,020 Metalling Walton-Kiwitahi Road from Piakonui Creek to Kiwitahi School, two and a half miles 1,580 Metalling Bell’s Road up to Scotchman’s Valley Road, 2 miles 30 chains .. .. .. 1,950 Metalling Scotchman’s Valley Road from Kiwitahi School to Bell’s Road, 2 miles 60 chains .. 1,800 Metalling Sanatorium (Te Miro) Road, one mile.. 650 Improvements on Station Road to Kiwitahi Hall corner .. .. .. .. .. .. 1,000 Metalling Milliken’s Road, 3 miles 55 chains .. 3,150 The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 23; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 15. Result of Poll.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the South Ward of the Borough of Masterton was taken on the 5th day of December, 1923, on the proposal to raise a loan of £28,300 for the purpose of revising the reticulation of the South Ward water-supply, &c. The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 249; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 315. I therefore declare that the proposal was rejected. ORLANDO N. C. PRAGNELI., Mayor. Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Porirua Riding of the County of Makara was taken on the 12th day of December, 1923, on the proposal of the County Council to borrow the sum of £3,000 for the purchase of roadmaking machinery. The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 165; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 36. I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.
