and twenty-three; and also further petitions, praying that the
boundaries of the proposed electric-power district be altered
so as to include the Town District of Mangapapa and the
Town District of Te Karaka and the County of Waikohu,
were presented to the Governor-General on the tenth day
of October and third day of December, one thousand nine
hundred and twenty-three, respectively:

And whereas such petitions were publicly notified in the
Gisborne Times dated the seventeenth day of May, one
thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, the Poverty Bay
Herald dated the thirteenth day of September, one thousand
nine hundred and twenty-three, and the Gisborne Times dated
the fifteenth day of September, one thousand nine hundred
and twenty-three, being newspapers circulating in the pro-
posed electric-power district:

And whereas, after due inquiry, the Governor-General is
of opinion that the petitions should be granted, subject to
the proposed boundaries of the district being altered as
hereinafter appears:

Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority con-
ferred upon me by section three of the Electric-power Boards
Act, 1918, do hereby alter the proposed boundaries, and
proclaim the area comprising the Cook County (including
the Patutahi Town District), the Gisborne Borough, the
Waikohu County (including the Te Karaka Town District),
and the Mangapapa Town District to be an electric-power
district, and I hereby assign to such district the name of
the "Poverty Bay Electric-power District."

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 14th day of
December, 1923.

Additional Land taken for the Kawakawa-Hokiang Railway
(Kaikohe and Okaihau Sections) in Block XV, Omapere
Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of
every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in
this behalf, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the additional land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto is hereby taken for the Kawakawa-Kokiang Railway
(Kaikohe and Okaihau Sections) in Block XV, Omapere
Survey District.

of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land
District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 15th day of
December, 1923.

section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, John Rush-
worth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim as a road the land in
Kidnapper Survey District described in the First Schedule
hereto; and also do hereby proclaim as closed the road
described in the Second Schedule hereto.
