LOWER MANGAPIKO DRAINAGE BOARD.
Te Rahu Special-rating Area.—Special Loan of £2,500.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Lower Mangapiko Drainage District taken on the 7th September, 1923, on the proposal to borrow the sum of two thousand five hundred pounds (£2,500)—two thousand pounds for the purposes of reconstruction of the portion of the Mangapiko Stream within the Te Rahu Special-rating Area, and five hundred pounds for the purpose of making, widening and deepening, and improving drains within the said area—the following votes were recorded :—
For the proposal, 50 ; against the proposal, 31.
As the total number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal is more than three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded, I hereby declare the proposal to be carried.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loan Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of Glen Eden Town District was taken on the 13th day of October, 1923, on the proposal of the Glen Eden Town Board to borrow the sum of £5,110 for the purpose of forming and metalling roads and constructing a culvert, allocation as advertised.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 116 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 63.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Results of Polls on Proposals to raise Loans.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Kaeaea No. 2 Special-rating Area, in the County of Waitomo, was taken on the 7th day of August, 1923, on the proposal of the Waitomo County Council to borrow the sum of six hundred and fifty pounds (£650) for the purpose of widening, culverting, re-forming, and metalling portion of the Ohura–Mokau Road.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 13 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
Dated at Te Kuiti this 30th day of August, 1923.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Mangakokopu Special-rating Area, in the County of Waitomo, was taken on the 5th day of October, 1923, on the proposal of the Waitomo County Council to borrow the sum of nine hundred pounds (£900) for the purpose of re-forming, widening, culverting, and metalling the unmetalled portion of the Mangakokopu Road.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 25 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Matatoki Quarry Special-rating Area held on the 2nd day of October, 1923, on the proposal of the Thames County Council to borrow the sum of ten thousand pounds for the purpose of purchasing or otherwise acquiring land at Matatoki for a metal-quarry, for road access thereto, and county depot, for road-formation, and construction of tramways and railway sidings, erection of buildings and workmen’s cottages, the purchase and installation of all necessary machinery for the breaking and crushing of metal, and the carriage, supply, or sale thereof.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 99 ; and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 19.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

BOROUGH OF MOUNT ALBERT.—RESULTS OF POLLS ON PROPOSALS TO RAISE LOANS.
Road-construction Loan, £16,500.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Mount Albert was taken on the 25th day of October, 1923, on the proposal of the Mount Albert Borough Council to borrow the sum of £16,500 for the following purpose: The construction of that portion of Edendale Road lying between New North Road and Calgary Street, together with the Onslow Road approach to the proposed new road connecting with the proposed Kingsland Overbridge, £16,500.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1,125 ; and the number of votes recorded against the same was 168.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
Municipal Offices Loan, £6,000.
Pursuant to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Mount Albert was taken on the 25th day of October, 1923, on the proposal of the Mount Albert Borough Council to borrow the sum of £6,000 for the following purpose: The erection and furnishing of municipal offices (together with the necessary outbuildings) at New North Road, Morningside, Mount Albert, £6,000.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 499 ; and the number of votes recorded against the same was 772.
I therefore declare that the proposal was lost.
Quarry-site Loan, £5,000.
