SCHEDULE.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.-BULLER COUNTY.
SECTIONS 2 to 5, Block II, Ohika Survey District, and
Sections 31 and 37 to 41, Block VIII, Kawatiri Survey
District : Area, 610 acres; minimum annual rental, £10.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LICENSE.
License will be for a term of one year commencing from
1st January, 1924.
One year's rent at the rate offered, together with £1 ls.
license fee, must accompany each tender, and rent for the
broken period between the date of the Land Board's approval
of the tender and the 31st December, 1923, is also payable.
No transfer, sublease, or other disposition of the license
will be permitted.
No compensation for any improvements effected will be
allowed.
Licensee will be required to destroy and keep down noxious
weeds.
License subject to termination on one month's notice.

Land in Canterbury Land District for Lease by Public Auction.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 28th August, 1923.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land
will be offered for lease by public auction, under
section 132 of the Land Act, 1908, at the District Lands and
Survey Office, Christchurch, on Thursday, the 4th day of
October, 1923, at 3.30 o'clock p.m.

SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.-LEVELS COUNTY.-
AROWHENUA SURVEY DISTRICT.
An island, Block VII : Area, 50 acres ; upset annual rent, £25.
All flat, good alluvial soil, covered with English grass, with
patches of gorse. The section is an island at the mouth of
the Opihi River. There is no road access.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

  1. The purchaser of the lease shall, immediately upon the
    fall of the hammer, deposit an amount equal to six months'
    rent at the rate offered, together with £1 ls. lease fee.
  2. Possession will be given on the day of sale.
  3. The lease will be for a term of five years.
  4. The Commissioner of Crown Lands may at any time
    resume possession of the land comprised in the lease, or any
    portion thereof, by giving to the lessee twelve months' notice
    in writing of his intention so to do.
  5. The lessee shall have no claim against the Crown for
    compensation either for any improvements that may be
    placed upon the land, or on account of the aforesaid resump-
    tion, or for any other cause.
  6. The lessee shall have no right to sublet, transfer, or
    otherwise dispose of the whole or any portion of the land
    comprised in the lease, except with the written consent of
    the Commissioner of Crown Lands first had and obtained.
  7. The lessee shall destroy all rabbits on the land, and
    shall prevent their increase or spread to the satisfaction of
    the Commissioner of Crown Lands.
  8. The lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of gorse,
    broom, and sweetbrier on the land comprised in the lease ;
    and he shall with all reasonable despatch remove, or cause to
    be removed, all gorse, sweetbrier, broom, or other noxious
    weeds or plants as may be directed by the Commissioner of
    Crown Lands.
  9. The lessee shall once a year during the said term, and
    at the proper season of the year, properly cut and trim all
    live fences now on the demised land, or which may be planted
    thereon during the said term.
  10. The rent shall be payable half-yearly in advance, free
    from all deductions whatsoever.
  11. The lease shall be liable to forfeiture in case the lessee
    shall fail to fulfil any of the conditions of the said lease
    within sixty days after the date on which the same ought to
    be fulfilled.

Settlement Land in Canterbury Land District for Sale by
Public Auction.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 20th August, 1923.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land
will be offered for sale by public auction, for cash or
on deferred payments, at the District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, on Wednesday, the 26th day of September, at
12 noon, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and
amendments, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.-AMURI COUNTY.-CULVERDEN
TOWNSHIP.
SECTION 38, Block VI : Area, 1 acre ; capital value, £75 ;
annual instalment (excluding interest), £3 15s.
The land is situated in Town of Culverden sixty-nine miles
from Christchurch. The section is flat, the soil being of a
light and shingly nature. Water is obtained by means of
wells and pumps.

TERMS OF SALE.
The purchaser may pay for the land in cash or by deferred
payments extending over a period of nineteen years. The
terms are—
(1.) Cash.—One-fifth of the purchase-money on the fall of
the hammer, and the balance, with Crown-grant fee (£1),
within thirty days thereafter.
(2.) Deferred Payments.—5 per cent. of the purchase-
money and license fee (£1 Is.) on the fall of the hammer,
balance by equal annual instalments extending over nineteen
years, with interest payable half-yearly at the rate of 5 per
cent. per annum on the unpaid purchase-money ; but with
the right to pay off at any time the whole or any part of the
outstanding amount.
In either case, if the purchaser fails to make any of the
prescribed payments by due date, whether of purchase-money
or interest, the amount (if any) already paid shall be for-
feited and the contract for the sale of the land be null and
void.
Titles will be subject to section 60 of the Land Laws
Amendment Act, 1912.

Invercargill, at 11 o'clock a.m. on Thursday, 4th October,

The above sections comprise excellent suburban building-
sites, adjacent to school, post-office, and railway-station, and
only a few chains from Waikiwi-Invercargill tram terminus.
