Notice as to Areas in the Otago Land District declared to be Fire Districts.

PURSUANT to section 27 of the Forests Act, 1921–22, I do hereby notify that, on the recommendation of the Director of Forestry and the Land Board of the district, the areas described in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared by me to be fire districts; and I do further specify the period from the 1st day of November in any year to the 31st day of March in the following year, inclusive, as the period during which it shall not be lawful for any person within the said district, save pursuant to the written permit of a Forest Officer, to set on fire, or cause to be set on fire, any timber (whether standing or not), or any undergrowth, or any debris from forest operations, or land-clearing operations, or any grass or other specially inflammable material, without taking such precautions as may be prescribed by a Forest Officer.


SCHEDULE.

GREENVALE FIRE DISTRICT.

ALL that area of land in Blocks V, IX, XIII, XIV, XV, XVI, and XVII, Greenvale Survey District, containing by admeasurement 11,687 acres, more or less, and bounded as follows: Towards the north generally by Section 5, a road, Section 13, and a road, Block XIV, again by a road, Block XV; towards the east generally by Sections 5 and 6 and a road, Block XV, again by the last-mentioned road, and Section 5, Block IX, again by a road, and Sections 8 and 11, Block V, and again by a road; towards the south generally by Sections L.T. 2987, 21, and 15, Block V, a road, Section 8, Block XIII; and towards the west generally by the Pomahaka River. As the same is more particularly delineated on atlas No. 204, deposited in the Head Office, State Forest Service, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

CONICAL HILLS PLANTATION.

All that area of land in Blocks XI and XII, Glenkenich Survey District, and Blocks XI and XII, Rankleburn Survey District, containing by admeasurement 6,596 acres, more or less, and bounded as follows: On the west generally by Tapanui Railway, Section 4, Block XII. and a closed road; on the north generally by the last-mentioned closed road and a road in Block XI, Glenkenich Survey District, and Section 2, Block XI, Rankleburn Survey District; on the east generally by Section 4, Block XI, a road, and Section 3, Block XII, Rankleburn Survey District; and on the south by Pomahaka River. As the same is more particularly delineated on forest atlases Nos. 205 and 213, deposited in the Head Office, State Forest Service, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

PUKERAU FIRE DISTRICT.

All that area of land in Block IX, Waipahi Survey District, being Sections 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 18, 19, 20, 21, 40A, 47A, 48A, 49A, and 50A, containing by admeasurement 2,919 acres, more or less. As the same is more particularly delineated on forest atlas No. 213, deposited in the Head Office, State Forest Service, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Notice as to an Area in the Auckland Land District declared to be a Fire District.
