THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the
Council of the County of Whangarei, is published in
accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1913.

WHANGAREI COUNTY COUNCIL.

Otonqa Loan Proposal.

IN pursuance of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1913, and its amendments, public notice is hereby given that
a poll of ratepayers of the special rating area known as the
“ Otonqa Special Rating Area ” was held on Friday, the
8th day of December, 1922, on the proposal to borrow the
sum of £12,250 for the purpose of forming and metalling the
main roads in the said special area, and resulted as follows :—

Total number of votes recorded .. .. 128
„ in favour of proposal .. 106
„ against the proposal .. 22
Informal votes .. .. Nil.

As there were more than three-fifths of the total number
of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal, I therefore
declare the proposal carried.

Dated at Whangarei this 12th day of December, 1922.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

Wellington, 16th January, 1923.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the
Board of the Tararua Electric-power District, is
published in accordance with the provisions of the Local
Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

TARARUA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan of £200,000.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913,
I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the
Tararua Electric-power District taken on the 30th day of
November, 1922, on the proposal of the Tararua Electric-
power Board to borrow the sum of £200,000 for the purpose
of distributing electrical energy throughout the Tararua
Electric-power District by the erection of transmission-lines
and services, the construction of generating stations or
station, the purchase of all necessary material, goods, equip-
ment, and plant, acquiring land, erecting buildings, legal and
clerical charges, and contingencies, and generally carrying out
such works or undertakings as are authorized by the Electric-
power Boards Act, 1918, and its amendments, the number
of votes recorded for the proposal was 714, and the number
of votes recorded against the proposal was 83.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
