The North-western Side of Portion of Oakland Street, in the City of Dunedin, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908, subject to a Condition as to the Building-line.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 9th day of January, 1923.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in any-wise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Dunedin City Council on the sixth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, viz. :—
“That the Council of the City of Dunedin hereby resolves that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to that portion of the street in the City of Dunedin known as Oakland Street where the same abuts on to Allotments 7 and 9, Oaklands Estate, as more particularly delineated by brown colour on the plan annexed hereto ”;
subject to the condition that no building or part of a building shall at any time be erected on the north-western side of the portion of Oakland Street described in the Schedule hereto within a distance of thirty-three feet from the centre-line of the said portion of street.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of street situated in the Otago Land District, City of Dunedin, known as Oakland Street, fronting Allotments 7 and 9, Oaklands Estate. As the said portion of street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 56086, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured brown.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the following resolution passed by the Wellington City Council on the twelfth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, viz. :—
“The Wellington City Council, being the local authority having control of the streets in the City of Wellington, hereby declares that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to that portion of the north-eastern side of Buckle Street beginning at its junction with Cambridge Terrace and extending for a distance of 319·52 links, being frontage of part Town Section 263, City of Wellington ”;
such portion of street being described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of street situated in the Wellington Land District, City of Wellington, known as Buckle Street, fronting part Town Section 263, City of Wellington. As the said portion of street is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 55899, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Extending Close Season for Seals.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 9th day of January, 1923.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it is enacted by section five of the Fisheries Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), that the Governor-General may from time to time, by Order in Council gazetted, make regulations, which shall have force and effect either throughout New Zealand or only in such waters or places as are specified in the regulations, for, among other things, prescribing a close season not exceeding three years for seals, and, before the expiration of such term, further extending the same :
And whereas by Order in Council dated the fifth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 99, of the fourteenth day of the same month, a period of three years from the twenty-seventh day of November, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, was prescribed as a close season for seals :
And whereas it is desirable to further extend the said period :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the hereinbefore-recited section of the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the regulation set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
The close season of three years for seals, prescribed by the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council, is hereby further extended for a period of three years from the 27th day of November, 1922.
