THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

thousand nine hundred and nineteen, and gazetted on the eighth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen, are required for settlement purposes ; and, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act, such lands shall, from and after the day of the gazetting hereof, cease to be provisional State forests, and shall become subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District, being Section 3504, Block X, Otira Survey District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less. Bounded towards the south by Police Reserve No. 1105, towards the east by the main Christchurch Road, and towards the north and west by provisional State Forest Reserve 1677. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked X/98/12, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered green.

Also all that area in the Westland Land District, being Reserve No. 1118, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 13 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the north by Police Reserve 1105, towards the east by the main Christchurch Road, and towards the south and west by Provisional State Forest Reserve No. 1677. As the same is more particularly delineated on plan marked X/98/12, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand ; and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this 10th day of January, 1923.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is provided by section three of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, that any area or areas of land may be constituted an electric-power district or outer area of such district under the said Act, and in the manner therein provided :

And whereas a petition, praying that the area described in the First Schedule hereto may be constituted an electric-power district under the said Act, and that the area described in the Second Schedule hereto may be constituted an outer area of such electric-power district, was presented to the Governor-General on the seventeenth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-one :

And whereas such petition was publicly notified in the King Country Chronicle of the twelfth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, being a newspaper circulating in the proposed electric-power district :

And whereas, after due inquiry, the Governor-General is of opinion that the petition should be granted :

Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section three of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, do hereby proclaim the district with the boundaries as described in the First Schedule hereto to be an electric-power district, and I hereby assign to such district the name of the “ Wairere Electric-power District ” : and I do hereby further proclaim that the outer area, with the boundaries as described in the Second Schedule hereto, shall be an outer area of such electric-power district.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

WAIRERE ELECTRIC-POWER DISTRICT.

ALL that area in Auckland and Taranaki Land Districts bounded as follows : Commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 5, Block XI, Maungamangero Survey District, and bounded by a line running west along the Kihikihi Road to the Mangaotaki River ; then in a southerly direction by the last-mentioned river and the Mokau River to a point where the Paraheka Stream flows into the Mokau ; thence in an easterly direction along the southern boundary of the Waitomo County to the north-western corner of Section 9, Block VI, Aria Survey District ; thence along the northern boundary of the last-mentioned section and the boundary of the Waitomo County to the south-eastern corner of Section 10, Block VI, Aria Survey District ; thence along the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned section and Sections 15, Block II, and 6, Block III, Aria Survey District, and the southern boundary of Section 3, Block III, Aria Survey District, to the Oniao Road ; thence along such road to a point where such road intersects Block XI, Totoro Survey District ; thence along the southern and eastern boundaries of the last-mentioned block and Block VII, Totoro Survey District, to the north-eastern corner of Rangitoto-Tuhua 61r 2 ; thence easterly by the southern boundaries of Rangitoto-Tuhua 61r 3b and Rangitoto-Tuhua 61r 3A ; thence by the eastern boundary of the last-mentioned block to the Mapara Stream ; thence by the said stream in a westerly direction to the south-eastern corner of Section 4, Block V, Totoro Survey District ; thence by the eastern boundaries of the last-mentioned section and Section 3, Block V, Totoro Survey District ; thence by the eastern boundaries of Sections 10, 8, and 3, Block II, Totoro Survey District, and Maraetaua 7b to the Mangapehi Road ; thence by the last-mentioned road and the Tuhua Road in a westerly direction to the south-eastern corner of Maraetaua 3b ; thence northerly by the eastern boundary of Maraetaua 3b to the Mokau River ; thence by the said river in a south-westerly direction to the north-eastern corner of Section 3, Block I, Totoro Survey District ; thence by a straight line to the north-eastern corner of Section 8, Block VI, Otanake Survey District ; thence northerly by the eastern boundaries of Sections 9 and 11, Block VI, Otanake Survey District ; thence westerly by the southern boundary of Maraetaua 2b 3 to the south-eastern corner of Section 12, Block VI, Otanake Survey District ; thence by the eastern boundaries of the last-mentioned section and Section 13, Block VI, Otanake Survey District ; thence westerly by the northern boundary of the last-mentioned section to the Arapae Road ; thence by the eastern and northern boundaries of Section 3, Block VI, Otanake Survey District, and the northern boundary of Kinohaku East 2 Section 20 to the south-western corner of Kinohaku East 2 Section 24A ; thence by the eastern boundary of Kinohaku East 2 Section 28b 14 to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned block ; thence by the southern boundaries of Kinohaku East 2 Section 28b 14, Kinohaku East 2 Section 28b 15, and Kinohaku East 2 Section 28b 16b south to the northernmost corner of Kinohaku East 2 Section 15 ; thence south-easterly along the boundary of the last-mentioned section to the south-western corner of Kinohaku East 2 Section 20 ; thence by the northern boundaries of Kinohaku East 3d 4 and Kinohaku East 3d 9 to the Mangakowhai Stream ; thence by the western boundary of Kinohaku East 2 No. 16c to the north-eastern corner of Kinohaku East 3d 3r ; thence by the northern boundaries of the last-mentioned section and Kinohaku East 3b to the south-western corner of Kinohaku East 3d 5 ; thence by the northern boundaries of Kinohaku East 3b 1, Kinohaku East 3d 8A 4B, and Kinohaku East 3d 3A 4B to the Mairoa Road ; thence by the southern boundary of Kinohaku East 3d 6 to the north-western corner of Kinohaku East 4r 2 ; thence by the western boundary of the last-mentioned section to the north-western corner of Kinohaku East 4r ; thence by the northern boundaries of Kinohaku East 4g 2 and Kinohaku East 4g 3 to the south-western corner of Kinohaku East 4r 3A ; thence by the western boundary of the last-mentioned block to the commencing-point.

As the said area is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 56014, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon bordered blue.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

THE OUTER AREA.

ALL that area in the Auckland and Taranaki Land Districts, being part of Waitomo County, and bounded as follows : Commencing at the south-western corner of Kinohaku East 2 Section 24A, and bounded by a line running in an easterly direction along the boundary of the proposed Wairere Electric-power District to the north-eastern corner of Section 13, Block VI, Otanake Survey District ; thence in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of the said proposed Wairere Electric-power District to the most easterly corner of Section 10, Block VI, Aria Survey District ; thence in an easterly direction along the southern boundary of the County of Waitomo to the most northerly corner of Section 2, Block VI, Tangitu Survey District ; thence along the north-western boundary of Section 18, Block II, Tangitu Survey District, to the Takiri Road ; thence in a north-easterly direction along such road to the south-western corner of Section 15, Block II, Tangitu Survey District ; thence in a northerly direction along the eastern boundaries of Sections 14 and 6, Block II, Tangitu Survey District, to the south-western corner of Section 35, Block XII, Mapara Survey District ; thence in a northerly direction along the southern boundaries of Sections 14 and 32, Block XII, Mapara Survey District, to the Mapara Road ; thence in a northerly direction along
