Amending an Order in Council vesting the Control of certain Reserves for Landless Natives in the Southland Land Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day of May, 1923.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the ninth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, and published in the Gazette of the eleventh day of that month, the control of certain reserves in the Southland Land District set apart to make provision for landless Natives in the South Island was vested in the Land Board of the Southland Land District, pursuant to section twelve of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, as amended by section six of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1916:

And whereas it is deemed expedient to amend the said Order in Council by excluding from the Schedule thereof the lands described in the Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section twelve of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, and the amendments thereof, and of every other power and authority enabling him in that behalf, doth hereby amend the Order in Council dated the ninth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, hereinbefore referred to, by excluding from the land described in the Schedule thereto the sections described in the Schedule hereto.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.

SECTIONS 53 and 54, Block II, Lindhurst Hundred; Sections 436, Block IX, and 442, Block V, Forest Hill Hundred.

Consenting to Land being taken for the Purposes of a Public School in Blocks XXXIII and XXXV, Clutha District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 21st day of May, 1923.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the land described in the Schedule hereto being taken for the purposes of a public school, such land being occupied by a garden and orchard.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land being taken: 2 roods 29·8 perches.

Being part Section 8, Block XXXV.
Being part Section 13, Block XXXIII.
Being part closed road 448R.
Part Allotment 26, Rosebank Estate, situated partly in Borough of Balclutha and partly in County of Clutha.

Situated in Clutha District.

In the Otago Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 56764, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Directing the Sale of Land under the Public Works Act, 1908, in Block III, Waimea Survey District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day of May, 1923.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Public Works Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby direct the sale of the land described in the Schedule hereto, such land being no longer required for the public work for which it was acquired.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land directed to be sold: 2 roods.

Being part Section 51, Suburban South Original District, Block III, Waimea Survey District.

In the Nelson Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 56786, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon edged red.

Extending Time for Election of certain Members of the Whakatane Harbour Board.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this 10th day of May, 1923.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is provided by section four of the Whakatane Harbour Amendment Act, 1922, that the first election of elective members of the Whakatane Harbour Board (hereinafter called “the Board”) shall be held in the month of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three:

And whereas, owing to unforeseen circumstances, it has been found impossible to hold within the time stated the election of two members of the Board to represent the Opouriao Ward, and one member to represent the Omataroa Ward, of the Whakatane Harbour District, and it is necessary to extend the time for holding such elections:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section sixty-five of the Harbours Amendment Act, 1910, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby extend the time for holding the elections last hereinbefore mentioned to the twenty-third day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three.
