THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
[No. 47
hereto (and which was acquired for railway purposes, and is not now required for such purposes) shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road, and that such road shall be maintained by the Franklin County Council in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Council.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land dealt with: 30·5 perches.
Portion of railway land (Opaheke Parish), situated in Block VIII, Drury Survey District. (S.O. 20545.)
In the North Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 56743, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 18th day of May, 1923.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the second day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three.
