of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following amendment to the regulations made under the said Act and its amendments on the twenty-sixth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, and gazetted on the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen; and doth hereby declare that the amendment to the regulations hereby made shall be read as part of the said principal regulations, and shall come into force on the date of the publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

REGULATION.

REGULATION 134 (1) of the principal regulations is hereby further amended by adding thereto the following paragraph:—

“The term ‘permitted explosives’ shall for a period of twelve months from the 1st day of May, 1923, include the explosive known as Samsonite No. 3 (hereinafter called ‘the said explosive’) manufactured at the works of Nobel’s Explosives Company (Limited) at Deer Park, Victoria; provided that the use of the said explosive is only permitted subject to the following conditions:—

“(a.) The said explosive shall in all respects be manufactured in strict conformity with the schedules to the British Home Office Order dated the 15th February, 1923.

“(b.) The greatest weight of explosive which may be used in any one shot-hole shall not exceed 22 oz., and each cartridge shall be marked with words to that effect.”

Notice of Change of the Purpose of Reserves in the Town of Cobden, Westland Land District.

JELLI COE, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section six of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), the Governor-General is empowered, in the case of any public reserve vested in His Majesty or the Governor-General for any of the purposes comprised in Class II of the Second Schedule to the said Act, to change the purpose for which such reserve was set apart to any other purpose:

And whereas the lands described in the Schedule hereto are reserves duly set apart for sites for public buildings or other purposes of the General Government, being a purpose within Class II in the Second Schedule to the said Act, and it is expedient to change, as hereinafter provided, the purpose of such reserves so set apart:

Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers conferred on me by section six of the said Act as aforesaid, declare that the reserves described in the Schedule hereto are hereby changed from sites for public buildings or other purposes of the General Government to reserves for municipal purposes. And I do hereby further declare that this notice is issued subject to the provisions of section seven of the said Act, and shall take effect according to the provisions of that section.
