A PROCLAMATION.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the River Boards Act, 1908, as amended by the River Boards Amendment Act, 1913, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that, as on and from the date hereof, that part of the said Dominion described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby constituted a district under the said Act, and shall be known by the name of the Otaki River District; and that the number of members who are to constitute the Board of the said district shall be seven. And I do also proclaim and declare that Frederick George Davies, of Otaki, shall be the Returning Officer to conduct the first election of seven members of the aforesaid Board; that Wednesday, the thirty-first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, shall be the day, and the office of the Otaki Borough Council, Aotaki Street, Otaki, shall be the polling-place for holding such first election; and that Wednesday, the seventh day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, at seven thirty o’clock in the afternoon, shall be the time, and the office of the Otaki Borough Council, Aotaki Street, Otaki, shall be the place, at which the first meeting of the members of the Board of the said Otaki River District shall be held; and, lastly, I do proclaim and declare that the said Frederick George Davies shall be the person to make a roll of electors for the purpose of the aforesaid first election, in the manner prescribed by section eight of the said River Boards Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
OTAKI RIVER DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing 3,822 acres, more or less, commencing at the point where the western boundary of Waha-o-te-Marangai No. 1c intersects the Hautere Cross Road; thence north-easterly along the said Hautere Cross Road to the southernmost corner of Wairarapa No. 1; thence southerly and easterly along the said Hautere Cross Road to the southernmost corner of Section 28, Block III, Kaitawa Survey District; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 28 to the Otaki River; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 29 and 30, Block III, Kaitawa Survey District, to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Waihoanga No. 4A; thence to and across the said Otaki River and along the south-eastern boundaries of Waihoanga No. 4A, and Section 10, Block IV, Kaitawa Survey District, to the southern boundary of Lot 3, Waihoanga 1B Block; thence north-westerly along the said southern boundary of Lot 3, Waihoanga 1B, to its intersection with the Rahui Road; thence north-westerly along the said Rahui Road to its intersection with the North Island Main Trunk Railway line; thence south-westerly along the eastern boundary of the said railway-line until it intersects the north-eastern boundary of part Kaingaraki No. 6; thence by a right line across the said Main Trunk Railway line and the main road to Wellington to the junction of the said main road to Wellington and the Waerenga Road; thence in a southerly direction along the said main road to Wellington to the southernmost corner of Lot 1, deposited plan No. 3037; thence north-westerly along the south-western boundary of the said Lot 1 to the point of intersection with the eastern boundary of Lot 2, deposited plan No. 4176; thence generally northerly and westerly along the boundaries of the land shown on deposited plan No. 4176 to the westernmost corner of Lot 3, deposited plan No. 4176; thence westerly along the Haruatai Stream and the northern boundaries of Pahianui A and B Blocks to Riverbank Road; thence southerly along the Riverbank Road to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Pahianui A No. 1; thence to and along the aforesaid north-eastern boundary, the northern boundary of Te Tahuna No. 1, and part of the eastern and northern boundaries of Tutangatakino No. 5 to the old course of the Otaki River; thence along the aforesaid old course of the Otaki River, being the northern boundaries generally of Tutangatakino No. 5, Rekereke Nos. 1, 2, and 17, and the north-western boundary of Awaroa No. 10 to the northernmost corner of Tawaroa No. 1, along the north-western and south-western boundaries of the aforesaid Tawaroa No. 1 to the Otaki River; thence up the Otaki River to its intersection with the southern boundary of
