TAUMARUNUI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION INCREASING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Taumarunui Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Taumarunui Borough Council Land Purchase Loan of £2,200, 1923, authorized to be raised by the Taumarunui Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of purchasing Lot 18, Section 1, Block XIVA (1 acre), as site for future municipal buildings, the said Council, pursuant to section 22 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, hereby increases to twenty-three one-hundredths of a penny (23/100d.) in the pound sterling the special rate of eleven-fiftieths of a penny (11/50d.) in the pound sterling made and levied by resolution passed by the said Council on the 17th day of April, 1923, on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Taumarunui, such rate of eleven-fiftieths (11/50d.) in the pound sterling being insufficient to provide for payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on such loan; and that such special rate as increased shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

TARARUA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, and the amendments thereto, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Tararua Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Tararua Electric-power Board Hydro-electric Loan of £200,000, 1923, authorized to be raised by the Tararua Electric-power Board, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of distributing electrical energy throughout the Tararua Electric-power District by the erection of transmission-lines and services, the construction of generating station or stations, the purchase of all necessary material, goods, equipment, and plant, acquiring land and erecting buildings, advances to consumers for instalment, all engineering, legal, and clerical charges and contingencies, and generally carrying out such works or undertakings as are authorized by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, and its amendments, the said Tararua Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny one farthing (1¼d.) in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Tararua Electric-power Board District, comprising all the rateable property in Pahiatua County, Eketahuna County, Mauriceville County, and the boroughs of Pahiatua and Eketahuna; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-three (33) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

HEATHCOTE COUNTY COUNCIL.

MOUNT PLEASANT NO. 1 WORKER’S DWELLING LOAN.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by the Counties Act, 1920 (sections 192 and 193), and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and with the precedent consent of the Governor-General by Order in Council dated 9th day of March, 1923 (published in the New Zealand Gazette, page 771), and given pursuant to section 20, subsection (1), Finance Act, 1919, the Heathcote County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and principal on a loan of £1,000, to be known as the Mount Pleasant No. 1 Worker’s Dwelling Loan, authorized to be raised by the Heathcote County Council, under the above-mentioned Acts and authorities, for the purpose of erecting a worker’s dwelling in the Mount Pleasant Riding, the said Heathcote County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 17/64ths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all the rateable property of the special rating area comprising the whole of the said Mount Pleasant Riding, being a legal subdivision of the County of Heathcote in Canterbury; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable half-yearly on the first day of August and the first day of February in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

THE Partnership hitherto subsisting between LYONEL GEORGE ASHTON and MERVYN ROY ASHTON, trading as “L. G. and M. R. Ashton,” Farmers, Te Kawa, near Te Awamutu, has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the first day of April, 1923.

The farm at Te Kawa will be carried on by MERVYN ROY ASHTON, who will discharge all liabilities in connection with the same.
