Borough Council Antecedent Liability Loan of £5,300, authorized to be raised by the Whakatane Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of extinguishing part of its antecedent liability as defined by the Local Bodies’ Finance Act, 1921–1922, the said Whakatane Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one halfpenny (½d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Whakatane; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

PATANGATA COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Patangata County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Patangata County Council Cookstooth Roading Loan of £8,600, 1923, authorized to be raised by the Patangata County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of widening, metalling, and culverting Cookstooth Road in the Porangahau Riding, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one and three-tenths of a penny (1·3d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Cookstooth Special Rating Area in the Porangahau Riding described as follows,—
All that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, containing 15,764 acres, more or less, and being part land in the Porangahau Riding, Patangata County, and bounded, commencing at point on the right bank of the Mangamaire Stream at its intersection with the north-eastern boundary of Lot 1, Porangahau Block No. 1b 4d, in Block XV, Porangahau Survey District; thence proceeding generally in a north-easterly direction along the right bank of the said Mangamaire Stream to the southern boundary of Porangahau Block No. 1b 2, Block XII, Porangahau Survey District; thence along the southern and eastern boundaries of the said Porangahau Block No. 1b 2 to a road reserve one chain wide along the Porangahau River; thence by the said road reserve to the westernmost corner of Porangahau Block No. 1b 1c; thence south-west along the south-western boundary of the said Porangahau Block 1b 1c to the north-western boundary of Porangahau Block No. 1b 1a; thence south-east by the north-western boundaries of the said Porangahau Block No. 1b 1a, 1b 1b 1, and 1b 1b 2 to the north-eastern boundary of Porangahau Block No. 1b 4A 1A, Block XVI, Porangahau Survey District; thence south-east by the north-eastern boundary of the said Porangahau Block No. 1b 4A 1A to a road reserve one chain wide on the sea-coast; thence south-west by the said road reserve along the sea-coast to the north-eastern boundary of Section 11, D.P. 1215, being part of the Tautane Estate, Block VIII, Tautane Survey District; thence north-west along the north-eastern boundaries of the said Section 11, and Sections 9 and 5 of the said D.P. 1215, being part of the aforesaid Tautane Estate, Block VII, Tautane Survey District, the north-eastern boundaries of Blocks 49, 26, 50, 21, Tautane Crown-grant District, and again by the said Block 26 to the south-eastern corner of Porangahau Block No. 1b 4c 4, Block II, Tautane Survey District; thence generally in a north-easterly direction along the south-eastern boundary of the said Porangahau Block No. 1b 4c 4 to the southern boundary of Porangahau Block No. 1b 4c 1, Block III, Tautane Survey District; thence along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of the said Porangahau Block No. 1b 4c 1 to the south-eastern boundary of the Porangahau Block No. 1b 4j to the south-western boundary of Section 3, Block XV, Porangahau Survey District; thence along the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of the said Section 3, the south-western boundaries of Section 2 and Lot 2, Porangahau Block No. 1b 4d, D.P. 3270, to the north-eastern corner of the last-mentioned block; thence generally in a north-westerly direction along the northern boundaries of the said Lot 2 and Lot 1 of the aforesaid Porangahau Block No. 1b 4d to the point of commencement.
And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the first day of September in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty (20) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

PUBLIC NOTICE.
THE Partnership hitherto existing between HARRY TAPPING and FRANCIS WOODS, and carried on at 32 Ferry Road, Christchurch, under the style of “Tapping and Woods,” Seagrass Furniture Manufacturers, has this day been dissolved by mutual consent.
The business will in future be carried on by the aforesaid FRANCIS WOODS, who will receive all payments to and discharged all liabilities of the late firm.

TAURANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Tauranga County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £2,000, authorized to be raised by the Tauranga County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of regrading and metalling portions of the main Tauranga-Rotorua Road situated between Allotments 56 and 447 of the Parish of Te Papa of the County of Tauranga, the said Tauranga County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny three farthings in the pound sterling (1¾d.) upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Oropi Special Rating Area of the County of Tauranga, comprising the whole of the said Oropi Special Rating Area, bounded, commencing at the confluence of the Waiorohi Stream with the Waimapu River at the northernmost point of Allotment 56 of the Parish of Te Papa, on the east generally by the left bank of the Waimapu River to the north-eastern corner of Waoku Block No. 3; thence again on the east generally by the eastern boundaries of Waoku Blocks Nos. 3, 1A, 1B, and 1 to the southern boundary of the Tauranga County; thence on the south by the said southern boundary of the Tauranga County to the south-western boundary of Section 5 of Block X, Otanewainuku Survey District; thence on the south-west by the south-western boundaries of Sections 4 and 5 of Block X, Otanewainuku Survey District, to the westernmost corner of the said Section 4; thence on the north-west by the north-western boundary of the said Section 4 and a production of that boundary across the public road to the eastern boundary of the said public road; thence on the west generally by the eastern boundary of the said public road to the southern boundary of Allotment 588 of the Parish of Te Papa; thence on the north generally by the southern boundaries of Allotments 588, 585, and 535 of the Parish of Te Papa; thence on the west generally by the eastern boundaries of Allotments 535 and 534 of the Parish of Te Papa and a production of the last-named boundary across the public road to the southern boundary of Allotment 561 of the Parish of Te Papa; thence on the south, west, and north generally by the southern and western boundaries of the said Allotment 561, the western and northern boundaries of Allotment 562 of the Parish of Te Papa, and the northern boundary of Allotment 563 of the Parish of Te Papa to the Waiorohi Stream; thence on the west generally by the
