IT is hereby notified that, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by section 35 of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, the undermentioned persons have been appointed Rangers under and for the purposes of that Act for the Auckland Acclimatization District, viz. :

Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.

THE following notices, received from the Chairman of the Board of the Mangawara River District, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

MANGAWARA RIVER DISTRICT.
Results of Polls on Proposals to raise Loans.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Central and Eastern Subdivision of the Mangawara River District was taken on the 23rd March, 1923, on the proposal of the Mangawara River Board to borrow the sum of £12,000 sterling for the carrying-out of certain river-works, and the payment of necessary expenses arising therefrom.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 34, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 22.
I therefore declare the proposal was carried.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Mangawara River District was taken on the 23rd March, 1923, on the proposal of the Mangawara River Board to borrow the sum of £2,000 sterling for the carrying-out of certain river-works, and the payment of necessary expenses arising therefrom.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 52, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 134.
I therefore declare the proposal was rejected.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Ten Foot Special Drainage Area of the Mangawara River District was taken on the 23rd March, 1923, on the proposal of the Mangawara River Board to borrow the sum of £4,000 sterling for the carrying-out of certain drainage-works, and the payment of necessary expenses arising therefrom.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 5, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 40.
The number of votes which were informal was 1.
I therefore declare the proposal was rejected.
