Special Order made by the Waikato County Council altering Riding Boundaries.

THE following special order, made by the Waikato County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920.

Pursuant to section 100 of that Act, as amended by section 3 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1921–22, I hereby fix the 5th day of April, 1923, as the date from which the special order shall take effect.

WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Counties Act, 1920, the Waikato County Council hereby resolves by way of special order that, on and after the 1st day of April, 1923, the Waikato County shall be divided into seven ridings as follows:—

  1. The Tamahere Riding.—Comprising the area now so named.

  2. The Cambridge Riding.—Comprising the area now so named.

  3. The Whangamarino Riding.—Comprising the area so named.

  4. The Huntly Riding.—Comprising the area now so named.

  5. Taupiri Riding.—Comprising all that area in the Auckland Land District, in the Waikato County, commencing at a point being the confluence of the Mangawara River with the Waikato River; thence by the said Mangawara River to the eastern corner of Allotment 439, Parish of Taupiri; thence by a right line to the southern corner of Allotment 435 of said parish, and the production of the said line to the western boundary of Piako County; thence in a south-eastern direction by said county boundary to the northern corner of Lot 10 shown on plan 5548A deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland; thence in a south-west direction generally by the northern boundary of the said Lot 10, the northern boundaries of Lots 5, 4, 3, and 2 on aforesaid plan, and the northern boundaries of Lots 5, 4, 3, 2, 6, and 1 on plan 6454A deposited as aforesaid, the southern boundary of part Lot 1 shown on plan 4829A deposited as aforesaid, and the southern boundary of Allotment 220, Parish of Komakorau, to and across a public road to the east boundary of Allotment 151 of aforesaid parish; thence by the north-eastern boundaries of last said allotment and part Allotment 230, aforesaid parish, shown on plan 2383A deposited as aforesaid, to the south-east corner of Lot 9 on plan 5383A; thence by southern boundary of last said lot to and across a public road to the east boundary of Lot 5 on plan 8883 deposited as aforesaid; thence by the eastern boundaries of said lot and Lot 6 on aforesaid plan; thence by northern boundaries of said Lot 6 and Lot 8 on aforesaid plan to and across a public road, and by northern boundaries of Lot 8 on plan 5005A deposited as aforesaid to a public road, and by that road to a point the production of the north boundary of Lot 3 on plan 7316 deposited as aforesaid; thence by a line across said road to and by northern boundary of said Lot 3 to and across a public road, the north-eastern boundary of Lot 19 on plan 5006A deposited as aforesaid, and the east boundary of Lot 17 on last said plan to its junction with a public road; thence along the southern boundary of said road to and across a public road to the north-eastern boundary of Lot 18 on plan 5006A deposited as aforesaid; thence across a public road and by the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of aforesaid Lot 18, and the north-eastern boundary of Allotment 93, Parish of Komakorau, to and across a public road, and by the eastern and northern boundaries of Allotments 100 and 99, aforesaid parish, the southern boundary of Lot 2 on plan 9672 deposited as aforesaid, the eastern and northern boundaries of Allotment 103, aforesaid parish, to and across a public road to the eastern boundary of Allotment 109 of aforesaid parish; thence by said east boundary, and the east, north, and west boundaries of Allotment 108 of aforesaid parish, and the western boundary of Allotment 241 of aforesaid parish to the eastern corner of Section 208 of the Suburbs of Newcastle North; thence westerly along the north-east boundary of Section 208 aforesaid to and across a public road, the north-east boundary of Section 201 of said suburb to and across a public road to the north-east boundary of Borough of Ngaruawahia as published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 18, of the 17th February, 1921, page 501, and by that said boundary to the Waikato River; and thence northerly generally by said river to the point of commencement.

  6. Rototuna Riding.—Comprising all that area in the Auckland Land District, Waikato County, commencing at the intersection of the right bank of the Waikato River, by the boundary of the Borough of Ngaruawahia near Section 222, Suburban North, Town of Newcastle; thence north-easterly by the aforesaid borough boundary to its junction with the south boundary of the Taupiri Riding aforedescribed; thence by the aforesaid Taupiri Riding boundary to the north-west corner of Lot 10 on plan 5548A deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland; thence by the western boundary of the said Lot 10, and the northern boundaries of Lots 9, 8, 7, 6, on plan 5548A deposited as aforesaid, the western boundary of last said Lot 6 to and across a public road, and by north and west boundaries of Lot 14 on plan 6644 deposited as aforesaid; thence by the northern boundary of Lot 3B on plan 7594 deposited as aforesaid, and part Lot 2B on plan 7126 deposited as aforesaid, to a public road; thence in a southerly direction by said road to and across a public road; thence again by aforesaid road to and across a public road, and by the road forming the northern boundaries of Lot 4 on plan 8589 deposited as aforesaid, Lots 3, 2, and 1 on plan 6491A deposited as aforesaid, Lot 23 on plan 4607A deposited as aforesaid, and Lots 8, 9, and 10 on plan 4334A deposited as aforesaid, to a public road; thence in a southerly direction by the said road which forms the western boundary of Lot 10 aforesaid to and across a public road, and again by said road to and across a public road to the north-west corner of Allotment 202, Parish of Kirikiriroa; thence by a closed road to a point of production of the north-west boundary of Allotment 185, Parish of Kirikiriroa; thence by a line across a public road to and by the north-western boundaries of Allotments 185 and 186 of aforesaid parish to a public road, by said public road to a point the production of the road forming the northern boundary of east portion of Allotment 180 of aforesaid parish, across a public road, and by the road forming the northern boundary of said east portion of 180, and the northern boundary of Allotment 179 across a public road, and again by continuation of said road and the northern boundary of Allotment 177 of said parish and that boundary produced to the Waikato River; thence by the right bank of the said Waikato River to the point of commencement.

  7. Ruakura Riding.—Comprising all that area in the Auckland Land District, Waikato County, commencing at a point the intersection of the right bank of the Waikato River and the southernmost corner of Rototuna Riding; thence in a north-easterly direction generally by the Rototuna and Taupiri Ridings aforedescribed to the western boundary of the Piako County; thence south-easterly by said county boundary to the boundary of the Tamahere Riding; thence by the northern boundary of said Tamahere Riding and by the Cambridge Riding as published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 22, of 30th March, 1922, page 783, to the right bank of the Waikato River; thence by the right bank of the said river to and by the east boundary of the Borough of Hamilton as published in New Zealand Gazette No. 11, of the 25th January, 1917, page 246, and again by the right bank of the Waikato River to the place of commencement.
