BOUNDARIES OF THE COUNTY OF MAKARA.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the eastern shore of Porirua Harbour, being the north-western corner of Section 99, Block VIII, Paekakariki Survey District: thence towards the east and south generally by the north-eastern boundary of that section, by sections numbered 30, 31, 33, and 35 of Block II, Belmont Survey District, by Sections 37, 39, 352, 349, 347, 346, 345, and 343 of Block III, Paekakariki Survey District, by Sections 340 and 339 of Block II, Belmont Survey District, and by Sections 331, 330, 329, 322, 321, 422, 423, 7, 5, 4, 6, 3, 39, and 34, of Block VIII, Belmont Survey District; thence by the western boundary of the Borough of Petone to Port Nicholson Harbour; thence along the shore of the said Port Nicholson Harbour and the shore of the Lambton Harbour to the northern boundary of the City of Wellington; thence by the northern and western boundaries of the said City of Wellington, as described in the First Schedule hereto, to the sea-shore at the south-eastern corner of Section 37, Block XIII, Port Nicholson Survey District; thence easterly and northerly along the sea-shore to the point of commencement: excluding the Town District of Johnsonville.

Education Reserves for Lease by Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the education reserves described in the Schedule hereto will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Wellington, at 11 o’clock a.m. on Monday, 30th April, 1923, under the provisions of the Education Reserves Act, 1908, and amendments, and the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.—EDUCATION RESERVES.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.

Rangitikei County.—Ohinewairua Survey District.

Section 1, Block XV: Area, 283 acres; upset annual rental, £200.

Weighted with £1,230, valuation for improvements.

Situated on the left bank of the Mangapapa Stream. Access is from Taihape and Ohutu Railway-stations by metalled dray-road. Distant five miles from Taihape and two miles and a half from Ohutu. Soil is of good quality loam on clay, resting on papa formation. All felled and in grass. Ninety acres undulating, balance hilly. Well watered by streams and springs. Altitude, 1,300 ft. to 1,500 ft.

Term of lease, twenty-one years, with perpetual right of renewal.

Improvements consist of sheep-yards, cow-shed and yards, dwelling of four rooms, two-roomed outhouse, wool-shed, and boundary and subdivisional fencing 400 chains; total value £1,230, which will have to be paid in cash.

Waitotara County.—Omahine Survey District.

Section 11, Block V: Area, 193 acres; upset annual rental, £10.

Weighted with £72, valuation for improvements.

Situated about ten miles from Waverley. Section has been felled and grassed; ring fenced; comprises steep broken country of poor quality.

Term of lease, twenty-one years, with perpetual right of renewal for further successive terms of twenty-one years.

Improvements comprise 48 chains fencing, which will have to be paid for in cash.

Kiwitea County.—Ongo Survey District.

Section 11, Block XVI: Area, 268 acres; upset annual rent, £120.

Weighted with £162, valuation for improvements.

Situated on the Waitana Valley Road about three miles from Waitana Village Settlement. Land is broken, but easy undulating country; all cleared, with the exception of some parts covered in fern; about 10 acres ploughable. Soil is of a light loam quality, resting on clay formation; permanently watered by creeks.

Altitude about 1,800 ft.

Improvements consist of 162 chains fencing, valued at £162, which must be paid in cash.

Term of lease, twenty-one years, with perpetual right of renewal.

Kiwitea County.—Apiti Survey District.

Section 9, Block IV: Area, 120 acres 1 rood 24 perches; upset annual rent, £90.

Weighted with £84 14s., valuation for improvements.

Situated on Te Parapara Road about two miles from Rangiwahia by good metalled road. Easy undulating country, all cleared from bush. Soil is of good quality loam, on papa and shingle formation; well watered by a creek. Altitude, 1,800 ft. to 2,000 ft.

Term of lease, twenty-one years, with perpetual right of renewal for further successive terms of twenty-one years.

Improvements comprise 107 chains fencing and sheep-yards, valued at £80 14s., which will have to be paid for in cash.

Kiwitea County.—Umutoi Survey District.

Section 12, Block IV: Area, 138 acres; upset annual rental, £30.

Weighted with £380, valuation for improvements.

Situated on the Te Parapara Road about ten miles from Rangiwahia by good metalled road. Broken hilly country, all cleared of bush, only suitable for sheep and dry cattle. Soil is of fair loam quality, resting on papa formation; permanently watered by streams. Altitude, 2,500 ft. to 2,750 ft.
