Now, therefore, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by the one hundred and thirty-third section of the said Act, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open on Wednesday, the ninth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, for disposal as provided in section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

MARLBOROUGH LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.—
MARLBOROUGH MINING DISTRICT.

Marlborough County.—Wakamarina Survey District.—
National endowment Land.

SECTIONS 4 and 5, Block XIII: Area, 996 acres; capital value, £1,320; half-yearly rent, £26 8s.

The sections are situated on the Wakamarina Valley Road, which is a formed dray-road, and are distant about six miles and a half from the dairy factory at Canvastown. The sections generally are steep, rising from 200 ft. to 2,000 ft. above sea-level, and are covered with heavy mixed bush, the major portion being birch, but with some fairly good rimu in places. The small flat along the Wakamarina Stream is covered with scrub and second growth, and will be found suitable as a building-site. A small amount of dairying may be carried on when the flats are cleared, but generally the country will be found suitable for sheep.

Lands in North Auckland Land District declared to be subject to Section 127 of the Land Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Land Board of the North Auckland Land District has recommended that the Crown tenants of the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto should be afforded relief, owing to exceptional circumstances over which they have no control preventing the profitable occupation of such lands:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section twenty-five of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1911, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto to be subject to the provisions of section one hundred and twenty-seven of the Land Act, 1908; and I do further fix two years from the date mentioned in the said Schedule as the period for which the said lands shall be exempt from payment of rent.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TOKATOKA SURVEY DISTRICT.

SECTIONS 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, and 26, Block XII: 1st January, 1922.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 10th day of March, 1923.

Principal Land Office for the Gisborne Land District established.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council of even date herewith, and issued pursuant to section twenty-one of the Land Act, 1908, as amended by section three of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1914, the Gisborne Land District is constituted as on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section twenty-two of the Land Act, 1908, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that on and from the date hereinbefore mentioned the Gisborne Land Office shall be the principal land office of the Gisborne Land District; and I do hereby revoke the Proclamation dated the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, and gazetted on the third day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-two, declaring that the Gisborne Land Office shall be the principal land office of the Poverty Bay Land District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 9th day of March, 1923.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, John Rushworth, Viscount Jellicoe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the additional land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the East Coast Main Trunk Railway (Athenree Section) and for road-diversions in connection therewith.
