WAIRARAPA SOUTH COUNTY COUNCIL.


RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and all other powers and authorities it in that behalf enabling, the Wairarapa South County Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of interest and principal and also all other charges on a loan of three hundred pounds authorized to be raised by the Wairarapa South County Council under the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, for the metalling and laying culverts on the Ahiaruhe Settlement Road, the said Wairarapa South County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eleven thirty-seconds of a penny in the pound on the rateable unimproved values of all rateable property within the Ahiaruhe Settlement Road Special Rating Area, comprising all that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at the south-eastern corner of Allotment No. 3 on a plan numbered 4578, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Wellington, and proceeding in a northeasterly direction on Lot 1 of said plan 4578; thence in an easterly direction along the southern boundary of said Lot 1 to the Ruamahanga River and following the bank of the said river to the south-western corner of Lot 6 on said plan 4578; thence along the boundaries of Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, to the south-western corner of Lot 9 on said plan 4578; thence running in an easterly direction along the south-eastern boundary of said Lot 9 to the boundary of Lot 10 to the Ahiaruhe Road; thence along the southern boundaries of Lots 10 and 3 to the point of commencement: and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

MATAMATA COUNTY COUNCIL.


RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—PUTARURU-TOKOROA RIDINGS ROADS LOAN.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Matamata County Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £10,000 authorized to be raised by the Matamata County Council under the above-mentioned Act, for the metalling of roads within the Putaruru Riding and part Tokoroa Riding Roads Special Area, the said Matamata County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eleven twenty-fourths of one penny in the pound upon the rateable capital value of all rateable property in the Putaruru Tokoroa Roads Special Area, comprising all that area of land in the Putaruru Riding and that portion of the Tokoroa Riding commencing at the north-west corner of the riding; thence along the northern boundary to the eastern, and following that boundary to the north-east corner of Tokoroa No. 1 Block; thence along the northern boundary of the said block to where the Pokaiwhenua Stream junctions with the Putaruru-Taupo-Napier Road; thence following the said road to the commencing-point: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

GISBORNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.


RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—GISBORNE BOROUGH SPECIAL LOAN OF £2,000 FOR RELIEF OF UNEMPLOYMENT.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Gisborne Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,000, authorized to be raised by the Gisborne Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of relief of unemployment, the said Gisborne Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-sixtieth of a penny in the pound on the rateable value of all rateable property (on the basis of the unimproved value) of the Borough of Gisborne, comprising the whole of the Borough of Gisborne; and that such special rate shall be an

annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WOODVILLE BOROUGH COUNCIL.


IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Woodville Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £3,664 2s. 11d. authorized to be raised by the Woodville Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of repaying to the Bank of New Zealand at Woodville the amount of the Council's antecedent liability as defined by the Local Bodies' Finance Act, 1921–22, the said Woodville Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and one-fourth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Woodville, comprising the whole of the Borough of Woodville; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 31st day of March and the 30th day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten (10) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

TE KUITI BOROUGH COUNCIL.


RESOLUTION STRIKING SPECIAL RATE FOR TE KUITI BOROUGH ANTECEDENT LIABILITY LOAN OF £12,100.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, and the Local Bodies' Finance Act, 1921–22, the Te Kuiti Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of twelve thousand one hundred pounds (£12,100), authorized to be raised by the said Te Kuiti Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of paying off its antecedent liability, the said Te Kuiti Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seven-eighths of a penny (7d.) in the pound upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property within the Borough of Te Kuiti; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of March and the first day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of ten years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

IN LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of the NEW ZEALAND TOBACCO COMPANY (LIMITED), in Liquidation.

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of sections 230 and 252 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at the office of the Liquidator, Queen Street, Hastings, on Saturday the 24th day of March, 1923, at 10 o'clock in the morning, for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator; and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.
